The book by Cecilia Ahern is one of my favourites but the film was a terrible adaptation. For one, having it set in America was just wired up, and having awful Irish accents throughout was even worse. When not comparing it to the book, it's a good romcom that will definitely make you cry lol

@codownni It was done that way on purpose as far as I remember. The genuine Irish accent they heard from many people they auditioned wasn't what the american audience perceived as Irish and thus they decided to change the acting Irish voice for everyone to as you hear it now. When I went to Canada they couldn't hear much of an accent on me. It was mainly the so called strange words that I used that got them thinking. To them I was speaking wrong and actually corrected me constantly.
