Your point is null and void each SF unit in the world has a speciality Aussie SASR are deep recon specialists thats how we train small teams deep behind lines. Vietnam they were known as the Ghosts of the Jungle now they are the Ghosts of the Desert. US spec ops have more men can carry out more offensive ops and train local fighters in unconventional warefare its how they role and no one can compare one SF unit to the next. yes Force Recon is a part of SOCOM, they finally decided to accept the invitation in 2005 i think...but Force Recon is still under the USMC's command called MARSOC....i read somewhere they won't be fully integrated into USSOCOM until 2010 or 2011

Awesome force, know two Force Recon Marines. Few screws loose. Great personalities and attitude along with it. Not afraid of a damn thing. Those guys do not stop training and it's a shame they are not part of SOCOM, shame to say it but not too many people have heard or talked about the Force Recon Marines, they are about as elite if not more than Army Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and Air Force Special Forces. Every branch serves their purpose.

Make sure that you when you sign up for Recon its on your contract before you sign it. You will have a guarantee to try out for Recon but you are not guaranteed to make it, if you fail to make it you get put in a regular infantry BTL. I'm talking to a Recon Marine right now and thats what he says. I leave In sepetember to go stateside and talk to a recruiter because they don't have one in Europe right now. I also am planning on doing Recon. Best Of luck

What does your pft have to be for Force?

1st Class PFT is the minimum, with the goal being much close to 285-300. You also want to be a very solid swimmer. Endurance is essential. Good luck!
