Thank you very much for uploading. I've been trying to locate Nordstrom's Beetle for years + another similar Beetle. I recall one of them had Subaru water-cooled heads. Alas one of the Beetles over heated and the other mysteriously expired without comment. Amazing to see them taking on more modern looking cars of the period like Porsche 911s and Audi Quatros. :)
thanks so much for putting all these old rallycross events on you tube, we used to have them all on video (ie recorded off grandstand) but lost them all, its great to find them all here on the web! thanks.
No power steering, engine was taken from class 5 935 race Porsche with two KKK Turbo's and intercoolers plus Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection system.
More numbers;
Sand, 0-400 metres=12,62 second and speed was 196 km/h. 0-300 metres=10,73 s, 183 km/h.
Fuel consumption was one (1) litre per kilometer (on the track) :)
i remember watching this from the boxes at the back of the old grandstand as we were invited down to brands to watch Seppo Niittymaki wjo was sponsored by the company my dad worked for, Brilliant
Excellent vid, I watched this from the outside of paddock, just where they came back onto the tarmac to head up to Druids, great memories

@Arska6
Where did you find these acceleration times from?
Do you mean that the Porsche gets up to a speed of 206km/h in a distance of 246m on wet asphalt?
Do you know standing quarter mile time and speed?
What is the weight of Matti Alamaki's Porsche?
What is the top speed of the Porsche?

From Finnish Motorsport Magazine "World of Technics" 19/1984. Test place was rainy Räyskälä Finland.
Yes.
10,49 second, but top speed was (rallycross transmission) only 206 km/h, so..
1130 kg.
206 km/h.
