@angelazrail 1) Jailbreak your iPhone. Just Google it. 2) Install a SNES emulator from Cydia. Either SNES A.D.X or snes4iphone. 3) From the emulator you can get access to Google and download roms from for example doperoms or coolrom.

1) Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch. Google it if you don't know how, or ask a geeky friend who might know.

2) When jailbroken, in Cydia, search for and install snes4iphone. I've heard there's another kid on the block too, called "SNES A.D.X. Plus".

3) Get some SNES ROMs (games). Use google or youtube to find out how.

4) Put the SNES ROMs inside /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/SNES/ on your device. You can go there via SSH or via tools like DiskAid. Use Google or Youtube again.

@Blackshades101 It's a ROM of a special version of the game which was only released in the US I think. You can find that special ROM on Doperoms I think. Just google Super Mario All Stars + World snes rom

@threethousandwords The latest version of snes4iphone runs almost every game at full speed without slowdowns. There are a few exceptions, though. Google snes4iphone wiki, and view the first hit. There's a compatibility list there.

@aaronlloydthorne It means your iPhone isn't controlled by Apple anymore, i.e. only running apps from the AppStore. If your iPhone is jailbroken you can install many many many cool apps and things Apple would never let into the AppStore, i.e. console emulators, pirated apps, multitasking in iPhone OS 3 etc.

Nintendo is already threatened by Apple, iPhone and iPod Touch. They are taking over the mobile gaming market. Releasing Nintendo games on the AppStore would be suicide for them, I guess. A lot of people would rather buy cheap Nintendo iPhone games than the more expensive ones for Gameboy, Wii etc.

And I'm guessing alot of iPhone users don't have the NES or SNES, probably a great majority don't.

Imagine the download count on the first mario games for iphone that cant be played on anything else but the NES SNES or Wii, apple won't have any copyright on it, they get their very small piece of the pie while nintendo takes the biggie.

looks really good. i have played that game for the NES countless number of times. in fact my grandfather and i beat it a few weeks ago for like the hundredth time.

however i definitely would have one complaint about this game on the iphone. when i play mario i am always holding down the B button to run and never take my thumb off of it when i press A to jump. I wonder how difficult this is on a touch screen.

@touchdowntexas13 Basically it doesn't work. I've tried it on megaman where you have to charge your shot while constantly jumping around. He would always release his shot as soon as I released the jump button. These emulators aren't worth it unless you are playing an RPG or something. It just doesn't appear to respond to your single thumb pressing across two buttons or more. The only solution I could think of is to make a glove where the thumb has two bumps on it or something.
