I have just been introduced to the half-life seires (today) and this is what I think so far. G-man is the bad guy and he's not Gordan Freeman. I think he's like one of those alien spy things.
my gman theory is: the game is called half life because Gordon Freeman has a half life, one half of his life is him and the other half of his life is gman. When Gordon made a new race and a new world gman became the other version of him thats not human and gman wants Gordon to destroy the the aliens that he made and the aliens want him to destroy black mesa but gman blew black mesa up because the aliens were taking over the place and he wanted them gone.
to me G-man is a very strange man who seems to be invisible to everyone except to Gordon and Eli (at HL2 you'd have a conversation with Eli he would say that it seems that our mutual friend referring to G-man has a surprise for us or something like that) there is also a possibility that G-man is not Human because he has inhuman abilities. G-man may be a former Black Mesa scientist that had the same job as Gordon whom instead absorbed the powers from Xen unlike Gordon

The Borealis is going to be in Half Life 3 but the thing we do not know is who is going to be on it. We think that Chell from Portal is going to be on it or that the portal gun is because the Borealis is supposed to have some sort of advanced portal technology. Another question is what about Adrian Shepard he was taken by Gman also which means that he should have been awoken and he is going to somehow be important in HL3

My theory: Before Aperture Science was abadoned and run by GLaDoS, G-Man was a regular scientist at there, with the name of 'Gary Godman'. During the last days of testing GLaDoS, GLaDoS supposively had a portal shot after Cave Johnson, the founder of Aperture Science, made it just as Aperture Science launched GLaDoS. A system malfunction happened as GLaDoS shot the roof, and, like the ending of Portal 2, G-Man was sucked in the portal into space and sooner or later, a Xen spaceship found him.

people may have not know this but gman is in every single video game made in the world even before valve was ever made. every time gman is on the scene he runs away before anybody even notices it. i just saw him in a blues clues video game lol.
I believe he was the boss of Black Mesa, and was affected by the accident there, giving him some powers. Scince Eli Vance mentioned that he last saw him there...
personally.. i think that Gman is not exactly there, He/it appears to anyone who has been in contact with teleportation, therefore is simply a temporal parasite (if you will) but appears to have a mental control over gordon and shepard, allowing him to send them into-and bring them out of- a coma, a lot like the marker's effect (dead space)
Maybe G-man is part of an organization that wants to keep the Universe in balance/order. The organization knew of the powerful Combine Empire and they sent G-man to Earth. G-man is likely in the body of a CIA agent and pulls some strings with Black Mesa and the military. G-man helped create the cascade. Gordon then takes control of Xen and G-man uses it as bait for the Combine. G-man then recommends Gordon to his employers, the leaders of the organization, and help him weaken the Combine.

My theory: Before Aperture Science was abadoned and run by GLaDoS, G-Man was a regular scientist at there, with the name of 'Gary Godman'. During the last days of testing GLaDoS, GLaDoS supposively had a portal shot after Cave Johnson, the founder of Aperture Science, made it just as Aperture Science launched GLaDoS. A system malfunction happened as GLaDoS shot the roof, and, like the ending of Portal 2, G-Man was sucked in the portal into space and sooner or later, a Xen spaceship found him.

I think he is some sort of High-race of beings, and I know for sure he isn't gordon..The hair-line is differnet, and that is all in the genes, of course. I do think that he and the vortigaunts are connected, and so is gordon.

Well actually we have many theories. But i guess, that -Freeman is actually Gman.
Not because of the name. Because that gman is actually carrying Alyx much like hes own daughter. i think he killed Eli, and therefore want hes daughter back, or just revenge. Although in Half-Life, there is your closet where you open and there is Alyx as ina picture, i thnk there is some connection between Eli, Alyx and Gman. Thats my theory. =)

k so my theory is that G-man could have a link with apeture science.
apeture science and black mesa are very closly related in the stance of the borelais seen in portal 2 and even in the portal one credits song "mabey black mesa? haha fat chance".
as we see the end of portal 2 it would see us setting way for half life 2 ep. 3 or half life 3.
but the main point is G-man could be an employe of cave johnson or in some way linked with apeture science the end :D

i think hes a scientist (other vid has a pic of him in a lab coat) who worked for black mesa as a spy for Aperture Science (under Cave Johnson) (thats y hes also able to be spawned in Portal) in one of the levels of the first game HL hes seen reactivating a war head of some sort causing catistrofic destrouction (reason for teleporting)-> PORTAL GUN. (just my thoughts)

G-Man is a figment of Gordon Freemans imagination, a man who watches Gordon throughout the game, the people who notice him are either in his mind or he mishears. also, for those of you who think he is gordon freeman, remember that Gordon Freeman is (i think) mute, or doesn't talk alot. but G-Man can obviously talk fluent english.

personally.. i think that Gman is not exactly there, He/it appears to anyone who has been in contact with teleportation, therefore is simply a temporal parasite (if you will) but appears to have a mental control over gordon and shepard, allowing him to send them into-and bring them out of- a coma, a lot like the marker's effect (dead space)

Maybe G-man is part of an organization that wants to keep the Universe in balance/order. The organization knew of the powerful Combine Empire and they sent G-man to Earth. G-man is likely in the body of a CIA agent and pulls some strings with Black Mesa and the military. G-man helped create the cascade. Gordon then takes control of Xen and G-man uses it as bait for the Combine. G-man then recommends Gordon to his employers, the leaders of the organization, and help him weaken the Combine.
