  • OMG these guys just sent me the MHMRE first class!

i'm from california awesome! 1st purchase on amazon, epic.

can't wait to cleanse the mind. i've been feeling kinda buggy due to some food.

  • I eat a lot more fruits and vegetables, less supplements, MORE superfoods and wholefoods, I eat one meat meal a day.

    ENERGY LEVELS ARE AWESOME!

    PEACE AND GOD BLESS

    T

  • where do you get those coconuts?? i never see them already prepared like you have it.

  • Yeah, I love the OMHMRE (Original Merlin's Herbal Magic Roots Elixir) That stuff is the bomb! I am their web maintenance person, and they have always been one of my favorite clients to work with. I highly recommend it to anyone. You guys are great too!

  • LAMO LOL :D>

  • Irish Moss is a thickening agent. This lady at a rawluck I went to used it to thicken this torte she made.

  • Matt, you're hair is looking so nice lately! tamed ;)

  • Yummy...sounds really good. Another one I love is Vitamineral Earth by Health Force Nutritionals...very rich in natural nutrients and quite tasty too. I hope Merlins Herbal Magic improves their packaging to be have less impact on our environment...all that plastic with the small packets...yikes! Its something I'm starting to think a lot about; the impact of the products I buy and consume. love, me

  • I can't afford organic either but I always buy fresh from market stalls and make sure I wash the veggies and fruit. I'd also like to Matt and Angela to do a menu for a typical day. What they eat in a day.

  • angela lists what she eats everyday in her raw reform e journal, u can sign up for the mailing list.

  • Right now on my typical American diet I am only able to budget $300 a month.

At this time there is NO WAY I can add to that at this time.

So is this even possible? Should I just focus on eating as healthy as I can with the money I do have?

It makes me sad to think about not being able to be healthy because I am poor.

I watch EVERY tv show and enjoy them so much. Thank you Matt and Angela!

  • Hi, im in a similar dilemma. at the moment im at the stage of not eating any 'junk/bad' food, i eat wild 'free' weeds. If you eat protein powders that you buy from the internet, it can be cheaper then buying cheap meat from the supermarket for protein value, but then again it may not feel like your eating food as such. certain foods that may seem expensive can be found cheaper in chinese shops like goji berries/mushrooms/sea weeds.

  • I cant afford organic produce either, so i dont buy fruit or veg which are known to have high pesticide amounts used on them like strawberries, i think its safer to eat plants and veggies that have a skin on them that you dont normally eat. Im thinking about growing some wheat grass as that seems pretty cheap- but a hand juicer is required, no idea how much that will cost so id rather save up for a water distiller as i think thats more important.

  • 300 dollars a month just for one person is a lot for food. What the hell are you eating a freaking horse? I used to eat 100 dollars a month when I was in college. I can't believe some people 300 a month! That's insane. I bet if I ate ALL organic I would be paying less then 200 a month.

  • How about offering some real advice.. instead of putting me down?

As I said on my typical American style diet thats what I spend. I have read a lot of raw and vegan blogs etc and see what they are buying and KNOW I oculd not afford it. Raw almond butter for $18, a tiny bag of kale chips for $7. I know these things are not necessary but coming into this new I dont know what is and where to start.

  • the thing is that you can make your own almond butter and your own powders. All you need is fresh stuff and then use your blender and juicer, if you have one. You can also go and buy fresh fruits and vegetables directly from farmers. Where I live my friends know that I'm on raw and juices and they give me their fruit crops. You should also read up on the subject. It helps a lot. cheers.

  • I would buy average american food bread, butter, eggs, cheese, milk, hot pockets, burritos, vegetables, canned soups, pastries, chips, etc. And I only spent 100 a month!! You clearly go out to a restaurant every single day. There's no way in hell you are spending 300 dollars a month on groceries! Just stop eating out every single day! I mean have you ever even made pasta? I bet you have never even boiled water in your entire life hahaha

  • I truly want to transition into a raw diet but I have one issue. I need to know how to do it on a budget.

I know that most ppl say I will save money on health care in the future. That is great and I am sure very true. But right now that money does not exist. I am a poor adult college student working for minimum wage.

    to be continued next comment.

  • i really want to do this raw food stuff but i just dont know where to start

  • Google things like:

    Karen Knowler

    Matt Monarch

Angela Stokes (although I'm not sure if Angela helps people get started... not sure if that's her focus)

Those people have plenty of resources available (some free, some you have to pay for. Most educational products aren't expensive).

I'm not saying those things will get you started, but I'm pretty sure those people can help you take some steps in the right direction.

  • Go and buy some fruit & vegies! Make some vegetable juice & salads!
