il agree with some people here it is a bit slow, but thats prolly cuz all of our attention spans are fucked if you take the time to watch this movie and try to understand it, its a pretty good film but its not for the average joe if you expect non stop mindless action go watch the expendables if you enjoy something thats a bit more subtle then you might enjoy this

Wow. Worst movie ever? If that is what you think, you obviously have not seen many movies, or you did not get it. This is one of the most beautiful, poetic and nightmarish movies that I have seen. It is as beautiful as a Terrence Malick movie and as dream like as a David Lynch film. It is brutal and honest. It is art on the screen. Everyone SHOULD see this.

This was the first movie in a very long time that i just wanted to turn off and fart on! Its so damn slow and never gets anywhere. I liked the camera work and the other visuals, however the story was a picture book without sound. People claiming this is art should remember that a painting is non-moving and presents a story in one visual rather than lasting 1:30 hour. A movie needs to make a point, even if it is just to entertain, this movie only took your time. Sorry but an artwork on video requires more than this to be a quality piece.

The atmosphere of time and people's intentions are very realistic and fresh. And very frightening at the same time. Don't expect hack-and-slash movie.

@Asaminator He sacrificed himself and I think the reason why he does is individual to the viewer and whether or not they see him as Odin. The boy is saved through that sacrifice I think. One Eye was also a name for Odin and he had wisdom others did not due to giving up that one eye. And of course in the end, Odin is killed in the myths, all the gods die and chaos reigns. This is of course just the thoughts I had for the film and the ending, it can be interpreted many ways. :-)

The trailer really isn't good for portraying what the film's actually like. It's an art house film and i think people who go to see it expecting a viking adventure will be dissapointed and bored. It's slow and most of the film is scenes of mist moving over mountains and the light changing which is very beautiful. It's full of symbolism and religious imagery and is a great film but nothing like what you'd think from the trailer. Very thought provoking!
