The mark at 0:55 was a classic. Does anyone remember they had the girl that took that photo (you can see her in the background) on the footy show a couple of weeks later with a big framed copy of the photo!
And the thing is, the game actually HADN'T lasted longer than George Burns, given that the VFL/AFL was formed at the end of the 1896 VFA/VFL season, and George Burns was born in April 1896...
The concern was that George Burns would not live long enough to see the start of teh Centenary Seaon so they filmed three ads - two assuming that he would be alive and this one in the event that he died beforehand. Then AFL Chief Ross Oakley announces 3 weeks prior to the start of the season "Only 3 weeks to go so it looks like he's going to make it"...... George died a couple of days later.
This is the LAST appearance ever of George Burns - his portion was filmed in October 1995 when he was 99 1/2 years old, after his bathroom fall which resulted in stroke and heart attack on the operating table. They filmed it several times as he had sadly had problems delivering his one line of dialog. He died in March of 1996, six weeks after turning 100 years old.

@4444bobbobbob "Unbelievable" by EMF, though the parts that play during John's, Tutu's and George's parts are not in the original song.

@michaeldoy The game was invented in 1858. That league was formed in 1897.
