  • LOVE IT! Also, I love your speaking voice.

  • A great rendition of a beautiful song. If you hadn't played so well Cheeky would have stole the show. A very entertaining vid.

  • @bathsideboy Wow thank you so much! Very kind of you! Judging by the comments, I think Cheeky already stole the show! What can I say - he's a hard act to follow! :-) Thanks again, and hope you have a wonderful weekend! God bless. ;o)

  • Love this cover Adam - as usual u r amazing!!!! Mariah Carey did the cover of Foreigner's original tune...beautifully done!!!!

  • @musiqladi61 You're SUPER kind, Linda! Thank you so, so much! Yup - a cover of a cover! :-) Hope you're well, and nice to hear from you again! God bless. ;o)

  • Just me again :P I really love your thick tone. I guess that's the PRS's work? My eye fell on a PRS SE Custom 25th anniversary edition while looking for a new guitar. I'm now playing a €270 Ibanez SA limited version.

Do you put anything between your Marshall DSL and your PRS? or any signature Marshall settings? Your sound is nice and thick, but since Santana and Chappers have that same characteristic sound I guess it has got to do with PRS guitars ;)

  • @kaznerov Hey Kaz - that's very kind of you. Here's the thing: you don't need a PRS to get that sound. Yes, the PRS does have a bit of extra midrange howl - particularly in the bridge pickup - but in all honesty, play a PRS bridge pickup with the tone rolled up to 10, and it's super bright! The secret lies in your tone knob. There's a threshold between bright and muddy - you want to try and hone in on that turning point, and that's your tone. (cont.)

  • @kaznerov (Cont.) For me, Santana is a HUGE influence. He's my favorite guitarist on Earth - feeling, tone, musicality - it's all there with Carlos Santana. So if there's even a slight resemblance, it's because he's my biggest influence! Thus, I learned the tone knob tricks pretty early! Lol. And you can achieve it with any guitar: I'm using a PRS into a Marshal DSL-50 - perhaps the tinniest amp in the world! Just play with the settings, play with your tone, and experiment... (cont.)

  • @kaznerov (Cont.) ...with your playing. So much can be done with your phrasing alone. Watch Carlos on videos on YT - the way he phrases his solos is very distinct. There's an ebb and flow to a Santana solo that's unmistakable - and it's that, that makes it music. Hope that sort of helps, and sorry for rambling. I'll have a look for a video that shows this well, and send it to you in a message. God bless. ;o)

  • Great work. Again.

Where did you get the backing track?

  • @christeringenno Thanks so much, Christer! The backing track was one of the ones I found online, although I added quite a few rhythm guitar tracks to it, to beef it up a little! Hope that helps, and God bless. ;o)

  • enjoyed your playing a lot! i was pleasantly surprised by this as i usually find instrumental versions of pop vocal (esp. mariah's) corny and...weird. but this is real good stuff!!!

keep playing and...the bird is sweet :D

  • @violinohoe Thanks so much, that's such a kind complement! God bless you. ;o)

  • Awesome, as always. English Accent! And your bird is adorable.

  • Beautiful, expressive and soul-touching as always... good to see you back after your break from the internet binge ;) Keep it up my friend!

    ~MXS

  • @Xavier315 Thanks so much, Matt! You're very kind. I'm almost back - like 60% of the way there. Few more weeks, and it's 100% Lol! :-D Hope all is well with you, and God bless. ;o)

  • Adam...as always, you are totally awesome! Your patience with Cheeky is very cool! Love this video! Thanks for sharing it with us. God bless!

  • And again.... I'm your fan dude! Awesome performance, I love how you "guitar cover" the vocal lines in a few nice songs! Keep em coming I'd suggest :)

Hey Adam, would you be in for a video collaboration between us? Satch's always with me always with you? I think I can learn quite a lot from you :P

  • @kaznerov Thanks so much, Kaz! You're super kind - sending you a message...

  • Incredible cover with a lot of feel, also very good played.

    Take #362 ?? OMG... :D

  • @Vladotubular Thanks so much, Vlado! Very kind of you! It wasn't quite 362 takes - that was a joke. But I definitely lost count! Lol. ;o)

  • Once again...excellent cover man!

  • @thedonace213 Thanks so much, Pablo! Very kind of you! :-)

  • Hey if having a pet in the studio is the secret to a killer recording, I guess my dogs Emma and Rusty will have to sit in. Great cover dude, nice attention to dynamics and I like that you don't overplay. Just the right amount of soul, passion and phrasing. God Bless you and all your endeavors.

  • @oxdpt99 Lol! This really made me laugh! You should definitely do that! Trevor, Emma and Rusty - the three musketeers - for your next video! Can I just say thank you for watching, and it really means a lot to have a comment like this from a guitarist as talented as you! Amazing! God bless. ;o)

  • @skemthestray Thanks so much! God bless! ;o)

  • Very nice composition Adam!.. I liked it a lot... cool idea also. You haven't posted it ages! DO MORE FOR US!

  • @sportsportsport Thanks so much - you're very kind! I'm onto some more I hope, soon. I'm listening out for another track to cover! Lol. You're the one who needs to put out more videos - your playing rocks! ;o)

  • @AdamLeeGuitarist haha! Thanks for the nice reply. I should make longer videos also. I might try and cover a satriani song all the way through. I'll probs spend a few days learning 'Always with me and always with you'.. but the tapping part isn't the hardest of sections, but it's bothering to learn it's tapping pattern! And my memory is dreadful. Do you find when recording it takes ages to get a good take? :)

  • @sportsportsport That's awesome! Satriani classic - you must do that! I look forward to hearing it! As for taking a while with takes - I find it depends. Some songs it's there within the first few runs, but with others, it takes a while. Had it not been for Cheeky, this would have been one of those quicker songs. But for other songs with key / octave changes, it takes a bit longer - Man in the Mirror was one of those. And also I improvise in my vids, so it depends if I like whatever I did! lol

  • @AdamLeeGuitarist I understand what you mean. I think doing 3 and a half minute guitar instrumental might take me ages. I'm not the most amazing guitarist but I try to have a take that displays the best of my ability, so I'm a perfectionist but not a maker of perfect guitar playing if you know what I mean. I think I can remember watching your rendition of the said song, and it was very good. =)

  • @sportsportsport Thanks so much! Look forward to your next video! :-)

  • @sportsportsport (Cont.) But it's subjective! It's often hard to do vocal covers of songs with the guitar, so I might have to make an arrangement in my head of how to make it flow - i.e. how to make one verse different from another, where you might otherwise be depending lyrical content. I blab on, and on. Lol. I'm wondering what to do next! Lol. :-) Please do your video, though - should be great!

  • I like your British accent great job like ever... god bless you Adam...

  • @FanaticQueenInGreen Haha - thanks! Listening back, I cringe, but maybe I'll get used to it with "practice" talking to a computer! Lol. God bless. ;o)

  • i was not expecting you to have an english accent! :) you're adorable! thanks for putting a smile on my face! AMAZING VIDEO!!!

  • @jessicalarewalker Thanks so much, Jessica! Glad you liked it - I have to say, I LOVE your Lady Antebellum cover - beautiful! That's the song I wanted to do next! I'm just worried people will think I'm all ballad and no rock! Lol. Still wondering what to play next! Thanks again, Jessica! God bless. ;o)

  • wonderfull

    thanks adam

  • @carlos13190 Thank you so much, Carlos! God bless. ;o)

  • I love your covers mate! Do you make your own backing tracks? Please keep them coming! Your playing is inspirational for many

  • @thetower07 Thanks so much - you're very, very kind. God bless you. As for the backing tracks - it depends what I find. If I find a really good one, I'll use that. But if I find a mediocre one, I add guitar lines to it, chop up bits of the original recordings and stick those in, in places, etc. For this one, I just added some rhythm guitar to beef it up a bit - it's a pretty good BT. You can find many of them on YouTube for people to use, too! Hope that helps, and thanks again for your kindness!
