  • Your mom is so clever hahah! Clauliflower mashed potatoes? Would you do a recipe on that? It sounds tasty:)

  • :))) I like the sound of your voice^_^

  • titli do you prefer cooking with red or green chilies??

  • @gerardbutler1969 It depends on the cuisine, but for Indian/Pakistani food I always prefer green chillis.

  • Awee I love you dish and would try tomorrow as I live on my own and my mom use to make this dish it looks so tasty...God bless you..

  • Hee Hee :-) My Mum used to mix mashed cauliflower in with the mashed potato so I wouldn't know I was having cauliflower.

  • Do you ever add Hing to your recipes? I've seen this made but with Mango Powder, what difference does it make in flavour to omit it?

  • @Vana1970 I do use it in some recipes, but I refer to it as asafoetida. It does add a certain something...

  • And you win the citizenship of punjab and a free turban!just messing with u..nice job!i'm an indian guy from Colorado but u cook better aloo gobi better than me

  • Looks fantasic thanks for sharing such a fine easy dish.

  • can I use broccoli instead of gobi(cauliflower)?

  • where is the bacon??

  • @xellyxbellyx I think it's in your skull...

  • @TitliNihaan great reply!

  • I'm subscribing because I love your accent!

  • Haha .. my dislike in childhood was broccoli ... meanwhile it looks like my tastebuds adjusted, like it now :) But mashed potatos and califlower, with a nice white sauce *yummy*

  • I've been ill for the last year and lost my interest in cooking--until I discovered your wonderful videos with easy directions and enough good humor to lure me back into the kitchen.. Even though I generally don't eat anything that walks or flies, I'm going to try your Oxtail Soup recipe--one of my childhood faves when I was ill. You're a gem. Bless you.

  • I LOVE YOU TITLI!!

  • Thank you so very much for sharing! :-) Deloria Ellegonta (USA) . I LOVE HER VOICE...SHE SOUNDS LIKE MRS. DOUBTFIRE!

  • @Eseercam A school friend of mine described the mother of another friend as being like "Mrs Doubtfire" and nothing good came of that ;-) nothing good

  • Thank you so very much for sharing! :-) Deloria Ellegonta (USA)

  • i am not indian either, and i cook indian food all the time....

  • you r making really good food and even you r not indian but you r doing really good

  • XCELENT I LOVE GOBI N NICE STORY

  • you really need to learn how to use spices because you are not using them properly at all ,,dont worry not many people do

  • Mmm mmm.. I'm going to make this today (insha allah) ;D! Thanks!

  • No Salt?

  • @sandesh0515 There is nothing stopping you adding salt if you want to.

  • This might sound crazy... but can you recommend something that will add a tang to this dish. Would you recommend i use tamarind paste.

  • @hareem Tamarind would certainly give it a tang.

  • garam masala????

  • lol... nice dish

  • Cauliflower needs to be fried first.

  • @phsychofreaky No it doesn't, but you can fry it if you want to

  • @TitliNihaan The odor of Cauliflower gets minimized if you will fry it. By the way, I agree that there is no hard and fast rule to cook. But, I am just sharing my and my mom's way of cooking Aloo Gobi. But, the way you cooked Aloo Gobi, it's really simple and I like it. :)

  • My son is 8YO today . Just been browsing through Indian food cos I'd like to try one. But your video stands out the most because he finds you a really nice lady and very funn! He couldn't stop loving with this "aloo gobi!" LOL!!! At the end of this video he asked "will you be friend with this nice lady mummy?" HAHAHAh why not!

  • Aaaloooo Goobiiiiii..!! :D

  • salt & garlic need to be added to a proper aloo gobi.

  • @nuMbERsRuNN3R "Proper"?

  • You forgot to add salt. That's why someone said it's bland.

  • @ragingcao I made this again last weekend. I don't know why they said it was bland - it was pretty hot!

  • Amazing and wonderful !!!! with non treditional style,,,,but looks delicious,,,

  • @lifeboy6969 There is great difference between looking delicious and tasting delicious.

  • @lifeboy6969 true ,but ,not that lucky to taste ,,!!

  • I followed your video EXACTLY. I actually had my iPad in my kitchen with me and watched/paused it as I cooked my aloo gobi. It turned out to be very bland. There doesn't seem to be enough spice for 500g/500g (1kg of food). I did try adding some salt and that helped. Do you just like your food bland or is there a mistake quantities mentioned in the video?

  • @pauls0416 Aloo gobi is not really meant to be a very spicy dish. Cauliflower has a delicate flavour and too much spice would overpower it.

That said, there is nothing stopping you increasing the quatities if you make it again and prefer it more spicy! It's all abut personal taste :-)

  • @TitliNihaan good comment...i agree!

  • too good.. can u show gobi manchurian [Indian appetizer] sometime plz?

  • OLD BINT.

  • i always thought you open up the spices in hot oil......

  • Loved the story about mashed cauliflower :)

you can also start off with a bit of cumin seed it goes very good with the dish.

    regards

  • hi thanks, actually i tried it today and all the gobi just dissapeard :O...iguess i cut it smaller :S

  • You do need to cut the gobi quite large or it may just melt... but I guess you found that out! Also, don't stir it during cooking.

  • Yeah i have a v bad habbit of stirring a lot during cooking :(. But may be its good next time :). Thanks for the quick tips butterfly :)

  • i watch/listen with headphones. your voice is only in the left channel

  • Yes, sorry about that. There was a hideous buzz on the right channel for some reason, but the left channel was clear.

  • Dear Titli (doesn't 'titli' mean 'butterfly'?),

please do accept my following compliment, although it may seem a bit strange. I really adore your charmingly loveworthy and natural weirdness. And of course I love your way of presenting your 'art culinaire'. Keep it up ;))
