i believe it allows to you operate the grenade bu pulling the pin, and pulling up the spoon

The standard tornado grenade has a pin. Once you pull the pin, the timer starts. This kit adds a spoon aka handle to the grenade which makes the tornado grenade operate more like a real steel grenade-- The timer does not start until the spoon is released. The pin now acts only as a safety device-- the spoon cannot be released until the pin has first been pulled.

it lets you use a spoon instead of just the pull pin. that way you can pull the pin and hold it for as long as you want, the timer doesn't start until the spoon lifts off.

the spoon kit costs arround 12-14$ , mine i got from Redwolf with the Tornado free as a special offer, i think the offer ends arround 26Aug? i am not sure though
