mine is already custom paint from heng long,i have added a jolly roger flag camo net extra jerry cans and action man sand bags.....well pleased

I just ordered one of these yesterday, it will be my 3rd heng long tank behind the Bulldog and Tiger 1. For the price and what you get you can't beat that. On the Tiger I took off all the tools and filled them in with spot putty, really like it, custom painted both so far. Only complaint so far the machine gun sound on the Walker don't work and the cannon fire on the Tiger with the left control stick don't work, errrrrr... but both are cool...... Jeff

With so many buyers commenting on the fact that they are more like racing cars out of the box, and really need metal tracks,and improved gearboxes, why doesn't the Hen Long company MAKE the damn things like that?

I'd be happy to buy one with all the so-called upgrades included already, without the hassle of having to buy them, fit them and throw away the unwanted bits.

@milk282 The metal and plastic tracks stay on fine (if you drive carefully). Metal tracks give added weight to the model tank which looks better.

@grompix1 well, my tiger 1 cant, even on full battery, and extremely short grass, it cant even spin on carpet, but on rocks, dirt, floor, concrete and sand.

@redrooster241 Hmmm, maybe its the width of the Tiger tracks that makes it harder to turn. The Panzer 3 & 4 are OK in my garden. I don't have a Henglong Tiger but you can get higher torque motors and gearboxes for HL tanks which will maybe work better.

@redrooster241 not only your HL Tiger1 which couldnot spin on grass(1 inch tall up) the rest stock HLs could not do neither. But as others said, the 3:1 will help really. Some people here in my place could pivot his HL 3:1 upgraded gearboxesTiger1 on 4 inches tall grass withease.

Hello, I just bought this same R.C. Tank Yesterday ! Could you or someone please tell me how long do I charge the battery ? I could not find any info in the instruction on how long to charge ?

It depends on the battery, 1700 or 2000, and how much charge is left in it. The charger that comes with a Heng Long will overcharge and damage the battery if left too long. You have two options, either buy a peak detect charger, or check the charge in the battery every hour (using a multimeter) until it reaches a maximum. The maximum will be well over 7.2v so don't worry about that. Just note the point at which it will not take any further charge.

Also, do not use the battery until it has cooled down, using a hot battery will shorten its lifespan.

Hello grompix1, My walker bulldog can turn on grass but not as good as yours yes same reason. And she couldn"t spin on grass(plastic gears&tracks) that's one of her weakest beside the airsoft gun.

This is a great tank, i'll be after one soon to live with the tigers i own. The narrow track profile makes them better than Tigers for grass use, the footprint of the tiger is huge so rolling resistance is greater then this model.

You're right. I found that my PZIII turns easier in grass than my Tigers(before I uprated their gearboxes that is).

Nice Panzer 3, thingkin of getting one myself and upgradeing all the running gear & suspention arms etc. Got me a Hen Long Tiger 1 that i upgraded with all running gear tortion bars the lot cost a few £ though but well worth it, hand painted the cammo & made ammo box & barbed wire, I have a few vids iff you want to see them.

The tank plus metal tracks, new motors, recoil unit and Elmod electronics cost about the same as a full option Tamiya kit. Not cheap!

Unless you've got a fast delta-peak charger, I recommend an overnight charge. My PzIII doesn't have smoke but I think you recharge them via the exhaust. Thanks for commenting.

I see you modded the antenna to be in the correct place. Does it flip down when the turret swings around?
