You were so miserable in line, you probably took it all out on the worker when it was your turn. I hope he gave you the lowest mileage, perfect upgrade that you deserved. Ass.
Do you really think this poor rental agents asked to be put in this position? Meybe there was some call outs, maybe some of them were helping on the other side of the airport. I bet no one said to these rental agents thank you for you hard work dude! It most be hard for you to deal with all this angry customers. You got what you paid for. Next time pay 3 times more and go somewhere else. Believe me all of those people that complaint were back the next year you now why because the bottom line
@javilopezfl I can NOT speak for OTHERs, but I have refused to fly since this return trip. Mostlly because I refuse the non-sense of TSA, and the 911 deception and LIES promoted by Mainstream Media. I will NEVER FLY again, in USA, until this TSA non-sense stops, and 911 is exposed ... Islamic Terrorist had NOTHING to do with it, and could NOT have caused the 3rd skyscraper to collapse, cause NO PLANE hit it. this wait was just annoying. TSA is a Violator of Rights to travel unmolested.
my advice for renting a car at orlando international would be to look into the express pass system for the company your renting from (most car rental companies have this option now) Wait times can be very hit or miss at MCO, if your coming in late usually the wait is alot shorter. We have also encountered the budget line at it worse. Thats why we get the express card fro the company before we rent from them if were traveling to orlando.
@jjburrito hahaha yeah, ppl getting raped, murdered, tortured and killed all over the world, but some poor fella who has the privelage to afford to rent a car and go on holidays, it must be terrible for you...
We had exactly the same experience with Budget at Orlando airport on a different day, this is NORMAL for Budget at Orlando airport - We waited over 2 hours on top of a 7 hour flight from the UK and will never book with Budget car hire again. Surly service and no apology didn't help lighten our mood. A terrible start to an otherwise great holiday. The other car rental companies didn't have this problem so book with them.
wow, its been so long since i seen this video. i was clearing out my favorites and here is the video that once, got me into a uproar but now, i dont care. i still work there but seeing more and more of the truth. so comming from a budget employee do yourself a favor, stay away!!!
The line also takes long because companies like Budget , Dollar and Alamo FORCE the rental agents to oversell on the customers by selling insurance and also upgrades. If the rental agents do not reach a certain amount that these companies want they get fired. Avoid these places. Whoever sells insurance in Florida must be licensed. These companies do not provide any license to the rental agents. Even so they fire them if they don't put more money in the companies pockets. Wake up authorities.
@marli14--I know the feeling. I used to work for Budget and Alamo. All I can say is I am glad I no longer do. I'd rather boycott those dishonest liars. I have also done business with Dollar and I was appalled. I think I will stick with Avis and, if I could, flush Alamo/National/Enterprise (part of the same company) down the toilet. The Rental Agents at Alamo/Budget were my #1 pet peeve of them all.
@Interests2009 wow...thats a stupid statement, how dare you call every employee that works for a brand dishonest? They must have had a hard time looking the world over to only hire dishonest people. Avis head office now controls Budget anyways, so you can blame your wonderful Avis for this situation as the buck stops at the top.
@Ansett76--I don't know about that. It was only my opinion. I did use to work for them. At the location I was at, there was: stealing, disobedience, workplace harassment, etc. A few rental agents even got fired for being dishonest. They were not supposed to be leaving the front counter and I heard they were cheating customers. Another thing I can say about the location(s) I worked at is that mgmt. were incompetent A-holes. Actuallly, AVIS is the only place left I care to do business with.
@marli14 if you can actually name one car rental company or any retail outlet in the world that does not promote upselling etc, then there may be some validity to that comment. It's how compainies raise the bar and make those huge profits to keep shareholders happy.
on top of all that when you already have customers in hand. i am a manager in CA and have never ever seen this before. but u need to also remember you chose us more or less on price and availability then speedy service. but as a consumer as well i am sorry to see you had to wait that long...and i bet anyone who re rented from budget got a killer deal the next time for sure . Wow....a year later and your video still poses alot of controversy and hits. You should consider making a "budget wait line 2" sequel video. I think this time you should attempt to interview both sides of the coin. The customers point of view as well as maybe the employees or managements point of view (if your able to of course). What bothered me I guess with your video is it ONLY showed the customers point of view rather than looking at both sides of the coin.
yea, I am surprised at the hits and smoldering anger... too. Never thought it wouold get more than 500 views... apparently I videoed a latent ANGER that vibrates with more than I thought. and I did Ask Management for an interview before posting... they declined. Wise on their part.
@williamwagener they declined because their employment contracts stipulate they cannot talk to the media. This has to come from Head Office. As is the same with most major corporations.
You must really have a stick up your @ss to waste time posting about rental car service. I joined all the frequent renter programs for all companies and wave at you when I go directly to my car, which is always clean and ready for me. Good luck to those of you not smart enough to figure it out.
I made the reservation 10 WEEKS AGO and there excuse was that there werent any cars left and that I had to wait 4 HOURS.
Well after a few dozen of these choice words (@#*!)
I was upgraded to another car but asked to pay the difference for the insurance.
Its just another reason why American companies are going bankrupt. But wait they want the handout from the $800,000,000,000 dollars and for its citizens to pay for shitty service.
I work for Budget. It could be they are short on help. Its NOT the employees fault that there short people but yet a customer will take it out on them. Just ask to talk to a manager for they often do all the staffing and scheduling. JUST BE PATIENT SHUT UP AND WAIT...LOL
i work for budget as well, i understand people get frusterated and just want to get their car and go. They were, about 2 hours worth of patience.... , but I can't believe this now has over 3000 views.... I lot of folks are pissed, all i did is document it...
Well when I'm at work at Budget the biggest "bitch" complaint I get is over damage. I always hear these famous words "I did not do it" when yet we have NO proof that it was previous. For example how can you NOT notice a big crack in the windshield before leaving the lot and say "I did not do it" when the car was clearly looked over by the customer and documented?? Which I have really seen happen before by the way on a windshield.
You would Know better than I. I rarely rent a car, and since
this experience have twice avoided renting cars. But if you say Your Budget Corp. have better cars for equal or less than Dollar... I'll take your word for it. i just avoid renting or flying. this was a rare thing for me. And since I avoid it like the plague. Thanks.
non union? dude, were local 272, united auto workers. Just giving you some new information. Maybe the private owned locations arent union, but airport locations are defenitly union.
Let's see, 1 year ago Avis Budget Stock (CAR) was $30.24/share and now it is $5.69/share which equates to a drop of about 80 percent. If your 401K was invested in Avis Budget Stock you will not be retiring this week. I can understand your sentiment. But, in all fairness, I do not think that they will be around in their current form for much longer.
you must read the Wall Street Journal, right? With the exception of pharma, the whole market is down. Really, you ARE NOT the Paul Revere of rental car news. And no, I do not work for them. I am just a human. And yes, like everything else, this will be going self-serve. human contact is just not convenient for anyone anymore...people are afraid of people.
Nice video william ughh those people at budget I cant belive them man. But luckily other rent a car companies like Alamo are installing self service kiosks so that will hopefully make things easier. Sorry about your longggggggggggggggggg wait at Orlando and I hope that your future rental car company dealings go alot faster. But maybe Budget has another side to the story so you should have looked into that.
Good point, but We did Call Budget "hotline" and all we got was a service message, and they were not answering with LIVE person. We did get a 15% discount coupon a few days ago. So Maybe AVIS/Budget was listening/ watching. - just one of the whiners.
I agree this shouldn't have happened...but who knows Budget's side of the story? I mean I love how this whinger thinks that he is so important that he assumes staff start coming out because he has a camera pointed at them. Could there have been delayed flights, which meant that more people came in at the one time then they were expecting?? Anyone who works at an airport will know that flights can be delayed/diverted regularly, thus meaning a big influx of pax as soon as they start touching down.
You know whats funny is the comment one of the ladies said, "they knew all these people were going to come." Its so true, everyday they print a report to see how many reservations they have for that day and hour and what type of car they have reserved and yet there they were, waiting for no reason. You have to spend money to make money but obviously upper management doesn't realize that and won't hire enough staff.
And of course these people didn't have to wait in line to ride space mountain at Disney world, right? And they definitely didn't wait in line to get through security at the airport, right? When you go someplace as busy as Orlando occasionally you will have to exercise patience.
Of course we have to wait in line for Disney, but Disney also can't gauge how many people are going to show up at a particular ride at a particular time, rental car companies on the other hand do. They knew days in advanced how many people were going to be there and how do they prepare? They leave two agents on their own to handle that crowd. I didn't even see a manager there helping to rent cars. That just doesn't make any sense. I feel sorry for the 2 agents who had to stay behind alone.
Really, you think that Disney doesn't know things like that??? WHY ON EARTH would they make the ropes SOOO long? And strategically place fans and water coolers? Right, no idea...You must know nothing about business....
LOL, So what you are saying is that Disney can tell me at any given hour how many people will be in line on a particular ride on a particular day on a particular hour? Cause I know for a fact that Budget can and they still didn't prepare for it ;) And yes AT LEAST Disney has fans and water coolers, what did Budget do to make that line easier? Added a few extra agents that left before the line was even done.
You should call Guiness, I have lived in Florida my entire 57 years, and 2 minutes is RECORD BREAKING!!!! Why on Earth didn't you tape that??? Oh that's right, there wasn't a 7 week pregnant woman in line, as they can't get on rides, but can certainly fly on planes! Really, get a job, maybe for Budget
I agree, seeing as he is so critical towards Budget, why not show us how you would do it, or is everything you do perfect...without error? Shit happens, get over it....there are people in this world who cannot afford to holiday/travel....so stop being so critical and be thankful.
you guys 4.6 million people come into Orlando every year . So why don't you think you have to wait in line? who asked you to come to Florida to rent car? Who cares about your wait in line. I bet you ll be mad when you have to pay LOTS MORE FOR YOUR Rental at other company's. you can go to any city and wait in line budget did not get that lady pregnant and ask her to rent a car. You where causing more problems than what was really going on...people waiting in line
Don't forget that Budget is owned by AVIS BUDGET GROUP! Do not expect better service from Avis - especially in Orlando it is operated by the same management.
Another good one is Hertz. Sure people have to pay for programs such as the #1 club gold on an annual basis. However, using a combination of promotion offers and/or deals along with the club gold and there's no waiting in line.
yes and unfortunately the AVIS attitude and lack of real service has permeated through the Budget group now like wildfire. Is such a shame 'cause Budget's service was renowned, AVIS could have taken their culture on board, but as always, their stuck up attitude towards everything has prevailed by the looks of it!
Don't forget that Budget is owned by AVIS BUDGET GROUP! Do not expect better service from Avis - especially in Orlando it is operated by the same management.
Yeah and as Budget's head office and senior management has been replaced/merged with Avis senior management......well I guess they look after Avis first (loyal to their own) and leave Budget floundering. So yeah, going with Avis is really no different.
You were so miserable in line, you probably took it all out on the worker when it was your turn. I hope he gave you the lowest mileage, perfect upgrade that you deserved. Ass.

Yeah and as Budget's head office and senior management has been replaced/merged with Avis senior management......well I guess they look after Avis first (loyal to their own) and leave Budget floundering. So yeah, going with Avis is really no different.
