  • I see a option for it to flash your keyboard LED? This true?

I did something kinda similar, i built a binary LED panel for a raid controller :D, may as well check it out, as maybe you could do a similar representation with software in a seperate window?

  • I watched your video. Looks rather cool but I'm not sure I get how the light works. Do they work on the entire array or do they represent individual disks?! Anyway it looks interesting. Feel free to contact me via my website (just google for DriveGLEAM) since I would like to have a chat with your about that led mod ;)

  • Hey. Its a Adaptec 2610SA Sata raid controller. It has a LED output plug for the 6 channels, and the original idea was to just have one led per harddrive, but i have instead done it in Binary Base2 representation :)

In the vid there are 3 columns of LED's, starting from the left is column 1 then 2 and 4 (basic binary table) so then for each harddrive you count the led number in each column to get the result!, quite simple really! :-)

i have a project writeup at this address (continued)

  • Gah, bloody youtube won't even let me post a link, even if i mask it fairly well. I've sent you a PM :)

  • Got it. Horrible drilling work ;) but the end result was not that bad.

And PS!. I did not mention the keyboard LED but yes. DriveGLEAM can do that. However I would advice to NOT use it. Read the docs ;)

  • Well, that's looks awfully similar to SoftLeds...

  • When I wrote DriveGLEAM I did not know about SoftLeds or any of the other alternatives except DriveLED. DriveGLEAM is and will forever be freeware and if you are a curious person I suggest you bring up taskmanager (or anything better) and compare CPU and resource usage for DriveGLEAM and other similar tools. Some of the other programs that does more or less the same sometimes eats up a lot of resources when in use.

  • GENAU das, was ich gesucht habe. Vielen Dank :D
