  • Willie Horton.

  • Om my God this guy is still around. Good thing he lost babdly in 1988. But still I'd take this rabid, hard core leftist any day over the Communist in the White House now.

  • OK, maybe the Obama part is neither here nr there (notice when my comment was made: enthusiasm of the moment, etc), but I still say Mr. D wouldn't have been re-elected, & not only would we still have had Bush Jr, he actually would have come in with a mandate & been able to choose a successor. The GOP would paint Dukakis as the 2nd Carter (remember the early 90s recession? Who would have been blamed?), & would have maybe a decade more of life: more wars, more trashing of our social services, etc.

  • Mike Dukakis is a great American a great public servant and woul have a great President. I volunteered for his campaign in Sacramento, CA when I was 17.

  • Dukakis was my 1st candidate: I volunteered for his campaign in Santa Cruz, CA when I was 14. Though I still admire him, looking back, I don't think he would have been a success as president: he was bright, principled, & competent, but he lacked the charisma of an Obama, which is important in an office which is as much about building alliances & carrying moral authority as it is about making decisions. I don't think he could hve survived re-election, & we wouldn't have Obama as president today.

  • I watched the whole video and there's some really interesting stuff and lessons to be learned. He's right about the choice of a VP candidate as well. Just look at what a disaster the Palin pick turned out to be.

  • Everything Dukakis says is true, especially the part about engaging people from all over the country. Obama did that and he was able to win so called red states.

  • It took Bill Weld 6 years to fix what Dukakis did to this state. I cannot imagine what he would have done to the country. Mike Dukakis is not the person for this generation to take advice/counsel from.

  • As someone who had the privilege of taking two classes with Governor/Professor Dukakis, I can tell you he is exactly the kind of person we should be taking advice from. You may disagree with him on an ideological basis and you may not like everything he did as Governor. That's fine. But that doesn't mean we can't learn from him. He's smart, fair and most of all he is someone who is not afraid to make an example of himself and help others learn from his mistakes.

  • Good talk .. good quality video.

  • Great comments from Al Obrien and Dukakis really makes you think about the media's influence on the politic.
