  • Dear my 8th teacher's grandfather that passed away during world war 2. He was a great fighter pilot but so sad that his plane had crashed. I heard my teacher said that he was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. RIP to all military soldiers and heroes that lost their lives.

  • I thank and bless all who serve with honor and dignity in our military. You have kept us safe. You are all heroes!!

  • as a navy veteran of vietnam i am proud to be an american.

  • ARLINGTON ! PROUD !!!

  • I only wish that i could stand tall and salute you all with pride and respect but i am not worthy as i am not a hero like you.

  • In memory of my Dad who passed away 5yrs ago & served in the U.S.Navy in WWII on the U.S.S. Los Angeles. R.I.P. Dad-I miss you.

  • Thank You so very much ... GOD BLESS.

  • Beautiful!

  • This is what America is all about! Our military deserves no less!

  • In Memory To My Dad: Paul L. Whitehead Jr. Bronze Star Vietnam Veteran. To John Peterson Killed in Action Vietnam June 1969.

  • Taps always makes my heart heavy.

  • Thank you tapsbugler for posting this. After serving this country on two tours with a third one coming, I commend you for this. Our military needs the support of people like you. This song never gets any easier to listen to. GOD Bless the USA and may he continue to keep my soldier buddies safe.

  • Put real aircraft at the end and this is top shelf material...thanks for sharing. Semper Fi.

  • I am sooo GD proud to serve this great nation in the greatest and most honorable fighting force in the world, I just hope I'd be a least half of the ones before me.

    US Army.

  • Wow one of the most beautiful versions of "Amazing Grace" I've ever heard!

  • beautiful video. loved the music playing with it also. wonderful job : ]

  • Too bad my class isn't taking a trip to DC and Arlington next year again since I'm going to Army BCT this summer. I would love to salute the Unknown Soldier as a member of the US Army in my uniform. Either way, love this song and it sends chills all over even after the millionth time listening to it. Excellent picture too by the way.

  • My grandaddy served in WWII, and my daddy went to Vietnam

And i'm damn proud to say i'm earnin my spot in this family tree, deep in this persian sand

    Semper Fidelis- Always Faithful

  • Taps Shall be Played at the Funeral of Frank Buckles

Last US WWI Vet Has Passed.

  • @ope7734

May he stand his post at Heaven's Gates with pride, oorah

  • @ope7734 First let me say I am not trying to be rude in any way, shape or form. But I met a US WWII Vet this past weekend, so Frank Buckles was not the last US WWII Veteran

  • @marinesarelife1 Frank Buckles was from WWI not WWII.

  • @tapsbugler

My Fault, i misread your comment

  • Taps was played at my brother-in-law's burial service a week ago today. Needless to say, everybody was crying. Rest In Peace, we love you.

  • I have been to two funerals here, for my father and my brother. Whoever the taps bugler was during my brothers' funeral in Nov. of 1998, Thank you. It was the most beautiful version I have ever heard. There was a large vibrato which I had never heard before with Taps. It broke my heart to hear it played with such soul. It had been played by a young black male, and I wasn't able to get the name. Anyway thank you. I will never forget it.

  • if you dont want to stand behind our soldiars feel free to stand in front them

  • I would really find it great if TAPS would come and investigate "Geelong Gaol". It's supposed to be very haunted! it shut down years ago. I would love to see the outcome!

  • Too My Brothers and Sisters.

  • taps kills me i cant stand it you can try and keep back the tears wont work,

  • To the fallen, may they always be remembered as the heros who payed the ultimate price so that we may live the way we do. And to those that serve thank you. For you are the heros of today. So that there may be the heros of tomorrow.

God bless the United States of America. The land of the free and the home of the brave. Thank you.

  • I salute you, and my fallen men.

with a profound sense of respect: A Lieutenant Commander in the USN

  • Beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace in a great video honoring Taps Buglers. This song along with Taps at the very end just sends chills up my spine. I am so proud to love this great country. God Bless America!

  • this ain't tap's people

  • @wrtigsdorf did you play the video to the end? This is where you will hear taps.

  • @wrtigsdorf Amazing Grace.

  • @wrtigsdorf Aren't you the perceptive one!

This is a tribute to the Taps Buglers at Arlington Cemetery.

The music you are hearing is, obviously, a rendition of Amazing Grace.

    This was beautifully done!

  • God bless them all. I'll never forget the bugler at Florida National Cemetary when my Dad was buried.

    PEACE

  • This video is simply awesome. Thanks for putting it together.

  • Thanks for letting me know. My best friend is a navy chief so I should have thought girl.

  • This video is beautiful and very respectful. I am curious about the bugler at the 2:11/4:17 mark. He doesn't have a military hair cut and just caught my eye.

  • @carmonspadra Ummm, that's because he is a she. She is Staff Sergeant Tammy Leverone. Since 1972, women have been members of the military bands in Washington. SSG Leverone was the first woman to sound Taps at an Armed Forces Full Honors wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns. She

also sounded Taps at the dedication of the Women in the Military Memorial.

  • @tapsbugler coolness thank you for the info. was wondering that myself. glad to have women serving in the forces. doesnt matter to me what you have between your legs, IF youre willing to die for my country, youre alright by me

  • @carmonspadra Playing taps at a Military funeral is not limited to Military Personnel. Many who play taps at Military funerals are volunteers, some are provided by BAA (Google Buglers Across America for more info.)

  • This video is beautiful and so respectful. I do have one question about the bugler with the long hair at the 2:10/4:17 mark. Where did this picture come from?

  • semper fi

  • I was lucky enough to be in The United States Army during the end of the Vietnam conflict. I am thus called a Vietnam era Veteran, I lived, but alot of the Capts. and their crews did'nt come back to me so I could fix the radios on their Bell Hueys, those Capts. and Crews pulled alot of men out of very dangerous situations, and alot of them gave their own lives trying to do just that, on this July 4th, I pray some of you will remember those how gave their LIVES for this country, so you could!

  • God Bless the soldiers and God Bless America.

  • my grandpa had a color guard burial and theyy played the taps song and it just touched mee. R.I.P grandpa, i miss u more and more each day <33

  • From September 1967 to October 1968, during my first year in the Army, I was assigned to HQ, Army Security Agency, Arlington Hall Station, VA. Being aware of Arlington, I went to the changing of the guards frequently-had many an occasion to hear "echo taps" and loved it every time!

    GO ARMY!

  • I remember the first time I heard Taps played that had any meaning to me. At my brother's funeral. In my experience, there is no prounder or lonelier sound.

  • @bluebobi God bless you

  • The very first slide is the Women in Military Service to America Memorial. It includes a reflecting pool, museum and interactive search data base of all registered military women, past and present. Many women ARWE NOT registered: please encourage them to!! Or: register them yourselves. PS: the Memorial is volunteer funded and very low on funds: PLEASE HELP.

  • Peace be with each family who has lost a loved one, fighting for the freedoms we live with each day. To all----thank you. You courage, your strength, your care---will always be remembered. Because of you, we are. Blessings on this Memorial Day, 2010.

  • this vidow is awasome. it brought back the time I took my husbands ashes to Arlington National Cemetery to be layied to rest, thanks for putting it on youtube

  • I was limited on how many people I could send this to. Thats either from stupidity on the part of the site developer or it is limiting American Pride. They could easily select videos for unlimited sharing.

  • Memorial Day: A day to honor the REAL American Idols, Honoring Those Who Gave the Ultimate Sacrifice.

Thanks to All for serving. "Stand for what is right, even if you stand alone!"

THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU !!! May God bless you and the USA!!!

  • "Amazing Grace." Well done!

  • This is proper respect for all casualties in the horrible invention called war. Those who died, those who sacrificed limbs, their sight, their dreams, their hopes so that we may live on. Let God not only bless America, but the whole world, even our enemies, for that is what he commands, what he expects. To those who have died, to those that shall, I salute thee.

    From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;

All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

    Fading light, dims the sight,

And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.

From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night.

Thanks and praise, for our days,

    'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky;

  • If its so bad in America why are millions of people beating the door down to gain entry? Americans have sacrificed more than any other nation in blood and money defeating nazism, facism and communism. Obama is putting down America and apoligizing for our way of life.

  • (part 2)...and bring the stricken man back for medical attention Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire, the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment. When the Captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead. The Captain lit a lantern and suddenly caught his breath and went numb with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier. It was his own son...

  • hey, not to be a jerk or anything, but actually the story you told was a myth :/

  • I received this email about the TAPS tune tonight. (Part 1 of 3)

It all began in 1862 during the Civil War, when Union Army Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison 's Landing in Virginia. The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land. During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moans of a soldier who lay severely wounded on the field. Not knowing if it was a Union or Confederate soldier, the Captain decided to risk his life...

  • not many people realize that there are words to taps. I have them on the wall in my living room.

  • its so wonderfull, you made that very nice !!!

i think its tho most beautifull thing to play a song like this at a funeral. this is a great tribute. thanks a lot !!!

  • Buried my cousin today in the Georgia Veterans National Cemetary.

  • my condolences may he rest in paradise

  • If you ever go to a funeral at Arlington Cemetery, you will never be the same again. When the military hands over the folded flag to the window, thats when your world comes crashing down.

  • if you just attened a military service it comes crashing down, damn man, taps and the 21 gun gets me evertime

  • Taps is a musical piece that is sounded or played the U.S. military services at flag ceremonys for soldier funerals on Memorial Day. It is also called Butterfield's Lullaby or Day is Done in 2 different verses.

  • that was fucking amazing

  • taps was taken from the call for lights out back when the army used bugles to give orders to large numbers of troops...

  • The military brought them into the middle classes!?! Are you for real? How many black buglers are in the video do you think? None!

I think a song that's basically about how slavery was wrong is a silly choice to play over an all white tribute to the US Military. Maybe I'm wrong.

    JMHO.

    Happy Christmas!

  • the military pays shit, i know, in a Marine, but its AFTER the military that you are brought into the middle class it can pay for your college not to mention free or lowcost insurance for you and your immediate family AND the GI Bill and black paople arent in the Buglers bc they didnt volunteer its a voluntary thing their are a lot of black marines & soldiers i guess none just volunteered for the Bugles and the song has nothing to do with slavery it was just made famous by the civil rights mvmnt

  • Am I the only one that thinks Amazing Grace is an extremely inappropriate piece of music to play over a US Military tribute like this, considering Americas treatment of the black man through history?

  • Yes, ScottyEire, you are probably the only person on the planet silly enough to make this complaint. In the first place what's the connection between the music and "America's treatment of the black man?" Second, there are a large number of black Americans, proud veterans, who will tell you that the military has done more to help black men (and women) into the middle class than any other institution; certainly more than NAACP, CORE and all the other agitation/victim groups.

  • And what about the romans treatment of the white man!? the Italians owe me something, i mean after all, they enslaved my ancestors the bastards, wheres my god damn Respect!? lose that idea, it is stupid, and lets all be happy its over. Otherwise i believe Italy has some money they owe me...

  • what the heck does that have to do with taps. this is the most tear jerking song we have.

  • Exactly! What has Amazing Grace got to do with taps? That's my point!

  • what about britains treatment of the Irish, or The Germans, Romans, Russian, Palestinian, Saudi, Iranian, ext's treatment of jews? this song was meant to honor those who have fought and died, or maybe just were willing to fight and die, for their country. it has nothing to do with slavery or america's treatment of minorities. Godbess America & Semper Fi

  • Amazing Grace was written by a slave trader after he saw the error of his ways. I'm not talking about Taps. Taps is a great piece of music but I know nothing of it's history. I do know the history behind Amazing Grace though, and that is why I find it an odd choice to use for a clip like this.

  • It IS Sargeant idiot. You are the one faking. Go look in a dictionary and get your head out of your ass. I bet everything in your life is a charle foxtrot.

  • NO, it's spelled Sergeant. and i bet everything in your life is a GIANT Pappa Oscar Sierra, or PIECE OF SHIT, since we're insulting people. and i would take my word for it

    Sgt. Jim Parson, USMC (Asshole)

  • RIP Daddy.. my USAF MSGT in heaven..

  • a fantastic and moving video. thank you

  • is the backround music for this video "lights out"??

  • Amazing Grace.

  • Gunnery Sargeant Frank Barone, USMC. Look, just stop being a dick, there's no reason for it

  • JUST DON"T BE A DICK

  • don't be a dick, he was only trying to help

  • I've play TAPs for my school.

  • You're right!! =) Here's a little more info, in case anybody else was curious. Army Birthday - June 14th 1775 Marine Corps Birthday - November 10th 1775 Navy Birthday - October 13th 1775 Air Force Birthday September 18th 1947 Coast Guard Birthday - August 4th 1790 Originally the Navy was older than the Marine Corps, but back then it was known as the Continental Navy, not the one we know today. Study up on it; I ran out of room to explain.

  • god bless those who gave thier life

  • Veterans: You did a wonderful job for your country. Thanks.

  • lol my teacher was doing an example about when her grandpa died and he was in the army and she started crying when this song came

  • THANK YOU for all of your sacrifices...Veterans, I am grateful for your services; actives (veterans in training), I praise you for your continued diligence. WE ARE ALL SAFER BECAUSE OF YOU..God bless and BRING YOU HOME TO US SOON....

  • I would like to thank all the veterans who served our county, RIP dad Korean war, My husband Bebo, Vietnam 6 years, and to my sons, my oldest is leaving for the army in June, youngest in 2 years. They are in the JROTC in schoo; Fran

  • I have friend's in all branches of the Military the last thing I would like to hear is TAPS because thats mean I lost a friend but that died for our freedom so that gives some comfort Great Video

  • dus anyone know wat notes are?

  • I'm listening to this song, now Obama has won the election...

    :(

  • I think the last veteran of any war should be buried at Arlington. The last WWI vet will be buried there.
