I just spent the last hour listening to different recordings of this piece on YourTube. This performance moves me the most deeply. The soprano soloist, Edward Burrowes, is superb and sings with a poise and presence well beyond his years. He is by far the best soloist in all of the recordings I have heard.

Just thought I would answer your query regarding this song and Libera. You may know by now but these boys are not the same as Libera. Boys air choir was a project which drew Boys from various choirs in an attempt to create the perfect boys choir. Sadly the project has finished. However Libera are still going strong and have a new album out called peace. Please buy it if you haven't already. You will not regret it.

I've always prefered boys as trebles than women as Sopranos, the tone of the voice is so much clearer. There's so much depth to the voice here.

I think it's a promotional video made for Japan. Libera is quite popular in Japan as well. But they do this sort of thing to all kinds of countries, I wouldn't be surprised if I see a bunch of promor videos in Italian, or Russian, or Chinese...

XD Even now I have a slight vibrato, and though it's not necessarily a bad thing or anything like that, I just can't produce as pure of a sound as a boy with an unbroken voice. haha. Er, what are you talking about? Almost every boy (with an unbroken voice) would be able to reach that note, they are perhaps too embarrassed to though, or don't want to, or don't know that they can. But European choristers are simply better than America ones. And the high notes in Bluebird are NOT meant to be sung by women...Ignorance man.

Especially St Thomas', who now have John Scott - the organist who trained up the Burrowes'. Scott is the best in the business! 90% of a choir is their trainer.

I think the boys of the Washington National Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul, St Thomas 5th Avenue, and Saint Paul K Street might prove an exception to your generalization. Not to mention the American Boy Choir, the Pacific Boy Choir, and a few others that come to mind.
