she is sooo involved in her pitching which is rare! i believe shell b an amazing pitcher as she developes more but she is amazing i am practically speach less im a pitcher 2 and pitch 54mph as a 12yr old and she will kill that at the age of 12 i wish her the best of luck!
@softballgurl4eva27 Thanks for the compliment. She is pretty good. She has come a long way since then. She is pitching 50+mph now with the 11" ball. She is very serious about playing softball.
A LOT of pitchers i come across aren't at all involved in their practice, they're just there to throw. your girl is sooo involved. so determined! this is what a lot of kids need to watch, if anything, they'll learn they need to catch and throw, catch and throw, not throw, take your time, think about it and throw. it's catch and throw catch and throw, consistancy! i'm loving all these videos, good job!
@starsovertexasnails Thank you for you comment. It really is her determination that makes her different from other kids. She just wants to win so bad. It all starts for her in the practice.
She's very good, not just accurate but fast! I've played softball for 6 years, and I can that her pitching will only improve! And great job on the coaching!
@peacelovemoulder2011 I'm humbled by your comment.. I'm very glad you like them. I hope my girls help inspire other girls to want to develop advanced skills. Softball is a very challenging game. They can carry lessons learned on the field into real life. Teamwork, Determination, Displine, Respect.
What are the orange cones for? All you need is for the ball to deflect off of one of those and hit you between your legs. Isn't having her aim for the mitt enough of a visual cue?
Teh TV Show Sports Science proved that it is harder to hit a softball traveling at 65mph from 43ft than a base ball at 95mph from 60ft. The sofball crosses the plate in less time and with much more force since the ball weighs twice as much..
People always say to not teach a girl breaking pitches too early, but IMO it would help her so much more in the long end if she did actually practice them, just not as frequently as her fastball/Change-ups, that way she'll have the muscle memory in her body when she's physically ready to start throwing them effectively. But all in all she's amazing wouldn't be surprise if a saw her pitching a Pac-10 game in a few years at the rate she's going. =]
We don't let her age be a barrier. If she can get it we teach it to her. She understands how to work the batter. We teach her to never ever throw over the plate unless the ump is squeezing her. She has great command, her curve is killer.
the line doesnt need to be over the plate needs to be infront of the plate about a foot....does no good to dip over the plte want it to dip right at the plate but looks awesome...hope u read what i wrote on other siter about her keepin weight back the one exception being a drop...but my man shes too young for anything but fastballs and straight changeups...hate to see her get hurt
Look how much she's progressed! That's awesome. She'll be an asset to any team she's on, that's for sure. (our daughter is 12 and has been playing for about 6 years now...we love softball!)
Keep up the great, hard work. I love how you place that ball at different locations. It is the most important thing when you get older, not speed. Good Luck!
Not yet. I set up the cones and the string so she has boundries. I then ask her to hit the glove. I move the glove around. It helps her with her control.
very good!, i can tell tha she was tought well! u go Dani!

The cones are a super great idea!
I wish my coaches would of thought of that when i was learning!
My biggest problem was have to in vision the strike zone, i bet that really helps her.
good job, she's really talented. She'll definitely go far with that arm!

The cones are boundaries. It gives her visual confirmation that the pitch is accurate.

I think the cones are a great idea! and dani is doing an excellent job hitting them all inside the cones!

nikkisoftball 2 years ago
you dont need changeups in softball and she doesn`t need to
brock84100 2 years ago
what do u mena u dont need changeups in softballl!! thats one of your main pitches!
nikkisoftball 2 years ago
Does she throw that on every pitch? That's what it looks like. If so, work on her fastball with a straight wrist.
itsbonniex3 2 years ago
Why does she turn her hand at the end? Maybe that's what causes her balls to go high and low..
itsbonniex3 2 years ago
That is how she trows the curve and screw ball.

She pitches her fastball in the mid 40's. we use the cones and the string to give her a zone to pitch within.
