  • did you know that the announcer of american gladiators from the second half of season 1 and thru season 4 was john harlan?

  • RIP Shelley "Siren" Beattie.

  • For Zap, does the announcer say "Strong, silent, determinated"? That's not a word...

  • @tumult1138 "Strong, silent, the terminator."

  • The intro for the final season looks like a promo for a movie. Anyonw know which intro would have Diamond when she started the season with her news breasts she bought between seasons?

  • It was too bad the 7th season was it's last. That modification to the set made it look like you were about to see something epic (the new lights and that huge AG logo there). Makes you wonder what they could've done with an 8th season if they could've gotten it. Was my favorite set version.

  • theme song never gets old

  • Where is Wolf?

  • @bangbuster3 he was in the 2008 version

  • After the season 7 they held open calls for season 8 of the show and they was coming to St.Louis to see what St.Louis have to take on the Gladiators and I was finally ready to try out but, did not make it in time but, I found out they cancelled the show and all tryouts was for nothing.

  • Announcer John Harlan also did other game shows and TV programs like "The Bob Hope Specials" on NBC, "You Don't Say" on both NBC and ABC, the second incarnation of "Password" on ABC, and subbing for Rod Roddy in September 1984 on "Press Your Luck" on CBS, among other jobs.

  • Did he just say "determinated" ?? 0:20

  • @skipplet No, he said "The Terminator."

  • Diamond Rocks! So as the rest of the American Gladiatiors!

  • At 4:45 or so you can see where the show jumped the shark because the intros were trying WAY too hard from Season 6 onward. At 5:40, you can see where the show left its 80s roots behind...in what, 1995? This is a bit like that video of the guy who took a picture of himself every day for eight years...aging is never pretty.

  • It's interesting looking at these progression of videos one after the other. The first season intro was like a humble beginning, with its distinct 80s style and character intros. Then starting from the 2nd season onwards, the show started to hit its peak of popularity, and it showed in the more "electric" intros. Then in the later seasons, you can tell the show was on the decline, and the intros were revamped into the distinct 90s style, with its flashy graphics...to make it seem fresh again.

  • i knew it thatt original titan was a black guy hahaha lol whos cares i just won 50 bucks = )

  • UWIELBIAŁEM TEN PROGRAM. był niesamowity.

  • why do all the female glads have blonde hair? Brunettes make good gladiators too.

  • @euslley eu, it was the 1980's in LA, Blondes ruled TV at the time.

  • uwielbiałem ten program na kanale SKY ONE

  • Awesome! THX!

  • From Universal Studios, Hollywood, this is American Gladiators, selceted from a nationwide search, 22 men and women have come to Hollywood to challenge our forcesome American Gladiators. For the single honor, to become American Gladiators champion!

  • at us Finland this 1989 just stopped and new 1898 started

  • I miss the 80's

  • I think season 3 was the best intro with the trash talking from the gladiators. The announcer seemed to have more fun and work the crowd better in season 3 with his style of intros of the gladiators. Then the exciting finale of season 3.

  • @Hawqis1 The announcer you heard was "Name That Tune" announcer extraordinaire John Harlan.

  • Confrontational... exciting ... action orientated, visually interesting

    haha such a cheesy introduction

  • @natedoggcata nate, it was the 80's, man.

  • I just found out the Original "Siren" from this series commited suicide.

  • the deaf one? from the later part of the original run?

  • Yes, sadly it happened february.

  • Steroids'll do that to ya.

  • Glad we have a montage of ALL the American Gladiators intros on here, though the last one (1995-97) was pretty sexy.

As for the new AG with Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali? I checked it out, but the original version will always be the best.

  • Actually Season 1,1st half had 2 different intros.

  • @Cockatiel2007, Yep! Oringinaly Toe Thismen was host and Mike Avali was co-host then when it when to the second half of season 1 Joe left and Todd Chirstian became Mike's co-host as Mike became host. Also they changed the Elemanator with 3 doors with Gladiators behind them 1 was free and that is the bad mistake they made.

  • Say, gameshowkid. The videos still say 4. But when are you adding more?

  • You're not answering emphatically, gameshowkid..!

  • soon sorry bout that lol
