My Grandfather was a "Leader of the Band" as he directed Orchestras and played Clarinet in numerous Jazz bands. My Grandmother played with him often-she sang and played keyboards. I, too, wanted to be a professional vocalist. I did and did well for some time...but I hated the traveling! Dan's songs hit a very close chord with me. My spirit is so deep and ethereal and this music calls to me!! Sorry so long but so many thoughts right now!!

What a moving song Dan wrote in memory of his Father. He was indeed a living legacy to his Dad. As Dan said, before his father died there was nothing left unsaid between them. All of Dan's music has so much meaning. I would imagine that "Leader Of The Band" had so incredibly much meaning to Dan. Although he left no children to (perhaps) live on thru him in their music he will always live on in my heart through all of his beautiful music he created and shared with me/us.
