  • BEST EVER ON THE WORLD

  • I can't believe this is the first time i hear this song,, it's one of the greatest songs ever.

  • Had the pleasure of seeing them in concert on numerous occasions. The Edge`s guitar work is awesome. That, and the atmosphere of the concert makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.Truly a timeless group!! :)

  • First time I listened it (it was one day before the album was issued) I cried when I hear the organ

  • I bought this album in 1987 and I am still listening to it today. Yes...it is definately one of the best albums of all times. I never get tired of it.

  • the song is a phenomenon , but the organ intro is as beautiful as it gets . u2 were only 25 26 when they wrote this and the joshua tree . coldplay are 34 now and still unoriginal as ever and basically shite , if ur gonna be good be yourselves and original and dont try to copy a great band and miserably fail. kasabian are englands only decent band anyway

  • @MrMegaallrounder

Or maybe they just didn't really care for this song in particular. I'm a U2 fan, but I see no reason to get all worked up because someone else clicked the dislike button.

  • U2 has the best intros. Hands down.

  • Not entirely sure of the origin of this song but I think it was written about an African village where the streets actually have no name. I do know that much of the Album's songs are about that continent and inhabitants. I don't always agree with Bono but will admit the man is absolutely brilliant.

  • defenitely one of the greatest bands ever! (U_U) :) :)

  • 10 people dont like this......... and thats ok the other 3 billion love it.

  • this is a song that willnever bemade again one of a kind unlike the crap today were ther old after 10 days

  • @caper121 get your head out off your ass then the shit out of your ears then we'll talk again

  • @caper121 If you think this song is absolute crap, well it's ok it's your opinion, but then just don't listen it and don't comment. - I mean like, you're one listening to the song apparently.

  • "9 losers have been found murdered and hanged upside down in an icetruck illegally parked on a forgotten alley, next to a street with no name."(Local Police Bulletin).

  • Bono = HYPOCRITE.

  • @scotland638 what makes u say that????

  • @mattshep29 “Bono claims to care about the developing world, but U2 greedily indulges in the very kind of tax avoidance which is crippling the poor nations of this world,”

  • @135aerosmithfan It's just a perfect way to open up the best U2 album, the first three songs, immediat classics :D but I'm not sure which is better 'The Joshua Tree' or 'All That You Can't Leave Behind', people would say The Joshua Tree because it came first I suppose.

  • With Pride (In The Name Of Love) and One, it's my favorite U2 song!

  • We feel the thunder, we hear the echoing roar, and we are launched into an anthem of light and fire. There's something tangible here... something real. And we are drawn into it because it propels us forwards, onwards, upwards, into something far higher than where we are right now.

  • ....The singer of U2 is hot.........

  • @TS001Author His name is Bono.

  • "The cities a flood

And our love turns to rust

Were beaten and blown by the wind

    Trampled into dust

    Ill show you a place

    High on the desert plain

Where the streets have no name --

    And when I go there

    I go there with you

    (Its all I can do)"

  • @crimsonsamuraiftw yeah, these lyrics are so epic yet so simple.

  • @crimsonsamuraiftw sing on brother.

  • Why did I have to be born so late?

If 2012 is true, I hope someone can bring me to the 80's and 90's where music like isn't about selling the image, but the music itself.

  • @Mandyw913 "We were born too late, in a world that doesn't care..."

  • @Mandyw913 Lol, even though you have your heart in the right place, the decade of time makes no difference really. They had a great amount of selling the image of music in those decades that you've mentioned as well. Such is the cultural rendition of pop music, for the masses. I suppose for all intents and purposes you could make an argument that such a debauchery of good music started in the 70's and was aided further along with the advent and introduction of Mtv.

  • @Mandyw913 dont worry 2012 is 100% fake and 80s will live on forever

  • @Mandyw913 people were saying that in the 80's and 90's too lol but yea its worse now i think the mainstream music industry is more dumbed down and corporatized than ever it seems like
