I was a huge fan of DOOLand seriously addicted back then.
Looking back, I can only laugh at the huge hair, atrocious fashion and the over-the top acting, despite the seriousness of the situation. What a hoot!
As a nurse now, Todd's resuscitation was wrong on so many levels!
The song sung is beautiful though. I'd love to see those old episodes now - like when Marlena's twin sister swapped identities with her and Bo & Hope were falling in love.
They should bring Noel (Liz and Neil's daughter) back to town....I know that Liz and Neil are no longer on the show, but it would be a great tie-in to history.
One of my favorite scenes of Days. I had the honor of actually being in the Day's Studio the day after this scene was shot, as a guest of Joe Gallison, who played Dr. Neil Curtis. In fact I saw the taping of the scene where Liz is telling her and Neil's daughter Noel about her Uncle Todd's death. Still my favorite Beatle's song. Just a little tid bit. The actor who played Todd went on to marry in real life, the actress that played Melissa Anderson, who is also in this scene, at Chris' Club.
I LOVED Carl Anderson (RIP), but found Loring's contribution to their famous duet underwhelming. Through YouTube, I've heard much more of her work. And I now believe that Loring is a fine singer with an excellent voice, which she uses very well. Not to mention her SMOKING sex appeal. All these years later, her smile can still make a tough guy gasp:) --
A wonderful set of scenes. Do you have the scene where Liz tells her daughter that "Uncle Todd is dead".....now THAT is heartbreaking and beautiful. Thanks for posting!
So heartbreaking. I started watching Days in 1987 (stopped in 1993 when Crystal Chappell left), so I just missed this. To reiterate what others have written...they just don't write scenes like this anymore.
Thanks for posting...It was good to see Robin/Mike, a young Missy Reeves, Melissa/Pete, etc. Brought back a lot of memories.
i remember this vividly the first time i saw it. for years afterward "here there and everywhere" was my favorite beatles song. i seem to recall that todd was caught up in drug dealing, and it was implied that the car wreck was kind of on purpose- like the only way he could get out of his situation was by killing himself. am i right? anyway- thanks for the beautiful clip...
No, it was a drunk driving accident. Todd was drinking with Savannah and JUMP and they ended up in a car accident. I think Gloria's version of "Here There & Everywhere" is better than the Beatles. It is so heartbreakingly poignant!
If I remember right, Todd took the blame for this accident, being that he had a problem with alcohol, but really the driver of the car was Savannah Wilder.
Nice vid. I used to have a crush on Todd back in the day. If you have any other videos of Todd, that would be great. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
This was when DAYS was rock solid and I couldn't miss a day! OMG! Mike and Robin! What happened to this show the last few years? I gave up ever since the murder story killing everyone off.
Thanks for this clip. I remember it so well. I wonder if you have Liz telling her daughter that her "Uncle Todd is dead"? I have that on audio and play it every once in a while. talk about heartbreaking. Thanks again for a great clip!

I remember watching this the first time and taping it and watching it over and over again. I really hated Savannah. And loved Liz.

You can find Gloria on facebook and twitter -- and YES, she does reply to your tweets, not like some soap stars :)
I do love this era of DOOL -- I stopped watching around 2000 ---

@suzysak I started in 1987 also, and stopped when Marlena levitated off the bed on X-mas! Started again 2005 though. Great to see everyone so young!
