The whole story is about how that guy is a play boy and when things starts to get serious he breaks it off, for unknown reasons(could be for enjoyment, or maybe something else). Then this time he felt he actually fell in love and realize he might've made a mistake doing that to her. The girl keeps favoring him because she was just holding onto the memories,

Not that I know much about western languages other than English but other than perhaps French, most Oriental languages (e.g. Chinese) are far richer because of a longer history (i.e. 5,000+ years of unbroken history)  and development. Thus are more expressive and by implication can be very emotional. In fact there are quite a few complete or near substitutes to every word.
