I found a patter at cake central, search google and they will come up. Free membership. They have great directions too...I basically taped the pattern to an oatmeal can and went over it several times with royal icing over several days...then just slid it off...CAREFULLY! Good luck!
The cake stared as 1 9X13 rectangle. I cut the rectangle in half, and stacked with buttercream in between. Then cut the pillow shape freehand. It was much easier than I anticipated. Cake Central has a great tutorial on how to cut the shape and how to make the crown. Best of luck!!
is that purple fondant?... it looks delicious!!! and i love the tiara!! did you make that as well? i love the tassles too you are very talented i myself am going through pastry school and talent like this excites me.
The purple is actually buttercream, and the tiara is made from royal icing. I appreciate your comments!! I wish I could go to pastry school..enjoy it and learn as much as you can! :)
To make the crown I taped the pattern to a large can of oatmeal, then taped wax paper over the pattern and layered the royal icing on over several days.
The oatmeal can doesn't have a lip on the end, so you can just slide it off. There was a little breakage, but nothing a spot of water and royal icing couldn't fix.
OMG IS THAT A REAL CAKE

Is chocolate fondant store-bought or do you have to make it chocolate. If so, how do you do that??? lol.
Your cakes are amazing!

I'm sure there are recipes for it, but if I were going to use it I would buy it premade...any store that carries cake supplies should have it.

That's a great idea!!! How did you get the crown off the oatmeal without it breaking.

The oatmeal can doesn't have a lip on the end, so you can just slide it off. There was a little breakage, but nothing a spot of water and royal icing couldn't fix.
