What most black people need to get back to is the bible and realize that they are indeed the real Jews. If you read the bible and get a full understanding. Girl the thing with about the media and music videos wasn't the media at. Black men chose to fill their videos with skanky looking girls and still do all the time, you can't blame that on the media. I think your comment about the cartoons featuring mostly white heroes is a big factor. It would be good for all children to see more black and ethnic heroes in cartoons. Limiting and monitoring the videos/tv is right on sistah! And on top of this specific issue, are the use of advertising techniques in commercials and the fictional stories as well can mold minds from a young age... how are they being molded? Are they becoming attached to form or do they know what is important, like love?

Willie Lynch is still threading in the confinements of not just the United States of America but the world.There is a perversion of face value when it comes to the perceptions and symbolisms in which our media conveys when it comes to people of color. Soledad O'Brien brought up a point concerning how convenient it is of exposing folks in urban settings than others.

The CNN test had black and white children tested of various ages and they do have black barbies with very Kinky hair. The dolls were actually a point of controversy because they looked ethnic instead of white with black faces.

I never said that the dolls couldn't have long hair. In fact, I encourage it. I merely said they should have kinky hair. And yes, its an obvious difference in comparison to other races, but its a difference that highlights 95% of black children and its one that should be celebrated, not hidden, even in inanimate objects. The last thing I want for my child is a black doll with a press and curl. It defeats the purpose, especially if the child doesn't have straightened hair.

Prince Naveen race has been questionable and he did not look black or sound black or Creole, like the other black characters in that movie. When Brandy played Cinderella another film catered to kids, her prince was not black either. I agree with all points made especially about the T.V. The media always trying to fade out the black. I noticed in Princess and the Frog the princess was black, but the prince was non-black. All the other princesses had a prince of the same race as them. Except Pocahontas which was based on facts. But, I just hated that they did not shed a black man in good light as prince charming for the kids to see. Then media is just messed up all together, especially Disney!
