  • Except a group of statues that are facing the ocean, all the others are facing inwards.

  • the statues where built to a honer ancestors and there dead chieftains

  • These Islanders were visited by the same visitor that spent time with the Mayans&Incas. Ancient stone faces were made to show respect and a welcome mat for a promised return. Like the Myans it never happened. The Dutch brought ashore diseases that eventually wiped out the entire population. The Alantian and Serians new this tall white haired fair skin man with an elongated head. The Maya wrapped their childrens heads with rope to elongate them to pay respect to the visitor from the stars...

  • i think they r gaurding a buried tomb

  • @52erman52 actually i think that they are looking at an invisible object deep in the horizon....so weird..

  • (AT)WHAT IN THE SKY ARE THE STATUES LOOKING,IF ANYTHING(certain stars/what is the direction/

  • They're all pointing to a volcano that is on the island. The natives called the island the "navel of the world."

  • Unfortunately for the resentment many Peruvian entering insult easter island by Chilean be due to a lost war in lebanon in the nineteenth century, causing many videos in youtuve of the island are affected by negative comments from Peruvian and promote Machupichu.

worse still to be unstable peru to attack and kill tourists every year (8 persons in 2008) in contrast to Chile which has better conditions

  • it cant be happening they cannot be removed from the spot intended please do not move them or the unholy will rise

  • Ah, that familiar 'all-knowing' look. Greasy-faced, Easter Island beauties, where did you go?

  • thats scary some how it looks as if they r watching someone or something

  • They say the statues contain the spirits of their dead chieftains, so that they could watch over the living.

  • wow thats weird lol

  • The statues were meant to be placed on a platform near the coast facing inwards, so that the could look over the whole island. Only a fraction of them were actually placed in their proper locations - they were so difficult to move that most were dumped midway from the quarry where they were carved.

  • no sound...

  • Pretty creepy with the heads on the ground
