  • omg this is fckn creapie scene and i love it :D

  • this scene makes the movie. I'm sure King's been using very hard hallucinogens while writing this.

  • that would have been a good idea if somebody for the set, had set the clock to military time and had it read 14:08

  • "I was out!"

No, Mike. You were never out.

  • 1:24

    asian domination

  • PLEASE add the rest of this!!!!! i love the katie part its soo well acted.

  • even imagine being in that room for all eternity. That was what John Cusack was facing. Yeah I totally agree that when he started screaming "I was out!" my heart did sink. It sucks so much to be in that room. It's like reality has ended. The 7 levels of Hell with the 7th being either the icy cold part or the part where his daughter died in his arms, which was symbolic of complete sadness and despair

  • Seriously though this movie reminded me of Dante's Inferno in that over the course of the hour spent in that room John Cusack seemed to be going further into Hell so to speak. They say the core of Hell is icy cold and that was where he ended up. The room got more and more out of touch with reality. We saw this when the one window disappeared and the other window had a brick wall on it. This movie was insane and it was one of those unimaginable torture things like eternity in hell. I couldnt

  • Fun Fact: the Claw Hammer Maniac as he is called in the credits (the deranged homeless looking guy) was actually John Cusack's Boxing or Martial Arts or something instructor back in the day. I thought this movie was good. The weird thing is that the room was not really haunted. It was an evil room. The hotel was built in 1912 and of all the rooms in the hotel this random room 1408 had all this weird shit happening in it. Was it suppose to be like a portal to Hell or something? I never understood

  • the actors must have had a great time demolishing the room :P

  • ah this was my fav part

  • scariest scene in the whole fucking movie. I lucid dream and this is EXACTLY what it feels like to tell your mind and body "Wake up!" only to wake, live half a day, and suddenly realize you've "woken" into another dream and you're still trapped in bed.

  • @groovylocks Totally! How much would that suck? It reminds me on Inception where they are in dreams within dreams. Ok I know this is gonna sound crazy but WHAT IF everything you are conscious of, and all the people and events and experiences in your life were not real? What if it was all just a dream and when you finally pass away you wake up in some room with wires connected to you and someone tells you that your entire life was just a dream, it was just a virtual experience?

  • @groovylocks That you were asleep for mere minutes when for you it felt like your entire life? It makes you wonder about reality and time and space and what exactly is God. Is God the system of life. Sometimes I would get high and for hours meditate on this subject. I would stare off into space being whatever and think about these things. When you think about it we are really just consciousness, everything else is not really who we are. Color, creed, gender, species, it's not who we are.

  • We are a never ending stream of thought, of consciousness

  • Biggest fuck you ever. Letting him believe he's free and than throwing him right back. That is just way too much for someone to take mentally. Not the scariest movie and yet still my favorite

  • @XxSeedOfEvilxX And probably the biggest fuck you after that is Using his dead daughter to toy with him.Bringing her back again only to kill her again.

  • @blink182LIVES Oooh yeah. Completely forgot that one. Overall biggest consecutive fuck you's in like what? Five minutes O_O

  • @XxSeedOfEvilxX Yeah O_O.

  • Five. This is five..... Even if you leave this room, you can NEVER leave this room. Eight.

  • @MyStarz23 I don't understand that. What did they mean when they said "Five. This is five"?

  • This particular scene was like one of my dreams. I was so sad, but happy to know it was a dream

  • What a fantastic but underrated film.

  • when he starts screaming "i was out!", your heart just sinks.

  • @morpherzrock Right, and the toothpick is tangible evidence of that exclamation.

  • @LouisLambert given the level of hallucination this room induces, i'd say the toothpick is probably just another trick.

  • @groovylocks I guess it was hallucination but it makes me wonder if in all the parts where John was screaming and punching the wall and such why didnt other people hear that? He totally outsmarted the room when he decided to burn it. I dont understand what the room was? Was it a portal to another dimension or was it some type of demon possessed room? What was it?
