Introduction to the Violin - How To Hold The Violin

Can you make a video on how to hold the violin without a shoulder rest? that would help a lot. I don't have a shoulder rest and I don't think I'm holding my violin properly cause I get neck pain after practicing a bit.

I am a fifth grader and i orderd a 3/4 violen from kk musicstore is that the right size because last year i had a half size

Yeah that should be fine. The important thing is to get the right size violin for you. So if it is comfortable and you can wrap your hand round the scroll (where the strings are fastened) then it should be right. Make sure you get the right size strings for the violin size.
