yay! i did this approach 5 days ago and this has inspired me to do the flight again......hehehe....passing by yokohama to the west then up to venus and onwards.....
u use fs9, cos i use fsx, and i got the complete STAR Venus 1 north and i didn't use payware, just freeware 777.....and it was awesome....be careful...when the chart says be at 1,800 AGL to intercept GS for R16L means u have to be at 1800AGL, don't rely on ATC for this, because u will a) never get vectors for R16L and b) common error is to think that u can intercept at 3000 like normal GS, no you have to be very low to intercept 1800 a must..any higher and ull mess up cos runway is so short.
Wait, FSX comes with STAR's or do you make them? To make custom routes in FS9, the only way to do it is to drag that "pink line" to the waypoints (pretty tedious). How do you do it?
Actually, ATC vectors told be to descend to 1800 for 16L when I tried it to intercept GS. Vectors don't usually fail (except as we discussed a while ago when they take you straight into a mountain).
in some cases FSX GPS has versions of STARS....however, for the whole VENUS STAR, the way to create routes in fsx is like fs9, drag the pink line...however, in FSX, you have the ability to create a waypoint that is not in the FS database provided you have lat and long coordinates, and the charts give u that.....thats how i did it.VENUS 1 all waypoints are there, so it shouldn't be tedious for an eager beaver like u ;)
Oh well, if I feel like it, I will. Otherwise, I'll use vectors (it works fine) for straight-in.
BTW, how do you switch from your flight plan to the STAR you created? Do you have to go to Create or Open an IFR Flight Plan and switch or do you put the STAR into the flight plan itself? If it's the latter, how do you know which runway?
hehe i predetermine which runways i use and so i insert full SID and STAR into my route...usually i insert the SIDS and STARS for runways based on experience with FS runway usage on 'fair weather" setting...so for example, i always know that out of WSSS fs uses 02C, and for EDDF fs uses 7L or 7R, so thats how i know...but if i want to use a different runway, i just insert the STAR preflight and ignore ATC. LOLOL
Yeah, just get that damn ATC to shut up... They're pretty stupid too. I remember once I took off w/o clearance, and they kept saying "Cessna six-charlie-mike you were not cleared to takeoff" a million times, then terminated radar service. I'm like, so what do you want me to do, crash the plane back down???
As long as you can determine the TOD and stuff, you really can get by w/o ATC at all. (PM me to continue this if needed, let's stop spamming smartboy4's video)
I'm working on an approach series edit too! Pennang visual 04. Same idea as this, text-to-speech generates the covers. Any ideas for funny comments to add in?
Text-to-speech is a type of program that converts what you type into speech that you can download. I'm using online Cepstral to make the sounds to cover the original call sign and pilot voices.
How come I never saw this?
Great stuff! 5* Go Air Antarctic!

BTW, I'll do a landing on this runway in FS, but I first need to finish that Pennang video editing before making another...
And since it's FS, I throw everything else out the window and just fly crappy ATC vectors... ;P

What text to speech?! You mean my friend gave me a fake voiced video? He told me this is pure original work he recorded on. :P
I don't know, I'm out of ideas really. Oops

You just named it.
