  • is the bassman 100 to loud for home use, what I mean is, I live in a detached house, so next door is 25 metres away, and it would be going in the garage, so it is not a big problem disturbing house guests, as garage is at the other end of house, not sitting room end, is this to loud for garage use ? if it is I am going to have to keep looking for a silverface deluxe reverb or silverface princeton reverb ( bummer ) as the bassman is way better sounding.

  • @UKToneKing Dude you do not want a bassman 100.. Those are the jokes of the bassman world and a bassman 50 is loud as shit. A silverface bassman 50 is what you want. I have used it live with loud bands un mic'd with everything else mic'd and I stood out more than them. They are sick amps, I just finished doing research on them because I am constantly buying and trying to fix amps and the silverface 50's are considered the deal. Mod it to aa864 on the normal channel and they're you go.

  • @willeng84 I got a bassman 100 man, it sounds killer, only plugged in to it for 5mins and knew it was my kind of amp, getting the master took out of the circuit next week as it will brighten the tone, also getting it to blackface specs next week, all new caps and new tubes, came with a fender head with brandnew celestions in it, it sounds sweet like, can not waite to get it modded, the SF DRs were going way more money than the bassman, and the bassman sounded better to me, more for yr money

  • @willeng84 I here U man, but I have heard only good things about the 100s man, infact people with 50s have said they wished they had a 100 for the extra kick, just what I hear. Unlike the HRDx were 70% of people had bad things to say about it, no one really knocks the bassman, their is nothing to knock, it sounds awesome, it is jangle as hell on the 2nd channel with bright switch on, and bass is on tap, this amp is a keeper like, not letting go of this one

  • @UKToneKing All I am saying is if you think a bassman 100 sounds good you have no idea. Ok, we'll start with the basics. The original bassmans have NEVER been 100 watts. Im my opinion NO ONE needs 100 tube watts, Just my opinion through the years, the best tone comes from you power tubes and to achieve power tube saturation you will need the volume cranked. With a 100 that is just too much and the bassman 100 has never been known as a KILLER amp. The bassman 50 is.

  • @UKToneKing With a 50 watt head or as I prefer SMALLER more like 22-25 tube watts is perfect. You can dial it in the get just an edge of breakup while not being escorted from the gig's property for blowing patrons ear drums. I am telling you just go check out a bassman 50, or just a blackface aa165, ab165, The rarities being the valued aa865 circuit and the 6G6 a/b circuit. Those are the goods and they are all around 50 watts and many pro's will tell you they jangle and are loud as hell.

  • @willeng84 P.S when this amp is all sorted with the mod's and new tubes ( month or so ) would U be able to get hold of a SF DR or SF PR for me and ship it to the UK ? no rush, just need to find a man in the US who can do this, cash can be sent first buy wire or paypal, as U look as if U own a store, so trust is not an issue ect

  • holy shit! It's Tom Savini!

  • I have a '62 blonde bassman head and was curious if I could put kt66's into it. Please let me know, thanks. I currently have basic 5881's.
