as someone who has many recordings by gogi grant and gale storm i can say without doubt this is gale storm. as to the claim that ivory tower is in the album the wayward wind, i have the album and it isn't. from spaulpierce4 on 11-25-11
This is NOT NOT NOT Gogi Grant. I previously had a channel as Thunderbird & now am Geminicus. If you were to ask Gogi if anyone knows her catalog better than her friend Jerry she'd tell you that she's more than once had to call to ask me who she worked with on certain recordings. She NEVER recorded this song. Never. & it is absolutely not on any album vinyl or cd let alone any titled The Wayward Wind. I wish to the person who posted this would change the credit. Patti Page is no Gogi Grant.
@Rotis59 If you google Gogi Grant and Ivory Tower, you will see that she did indeed sing this song and it's from the album Wayward Wind. And she's my aunt and that is DEFINITELY her voice.
@dosetwice I don't mean to argue with you and that is great that she is your aunt but, with all due respect to you, that doesn't make you an expert on her recordings. This version by Gale Storm was a nation-wide hit that sold in the millions and made #6 on the national hit parade. EVERYONE knew this version in the 50s - and era of which I am old enough to remember. I don't think Gogi's version was ever played on the radio if it was from a lp since top 40 radio in the 50s didn't play lp cuts
when I saw Gogi Grant Ivory Tower I thought didnt know she did this great song then I thought hey this is Gale Storm Cathy Carr is good too but the r and b version by Otis Williams and the Charms is excellent
When I was a kid, I used to sing this great 1956 song... oftentimes to myself in front of our big mirror ( : Ahh time fleets soooooooooo very fast.....
This isn't Gogi Grant. This is Gale Storm's big hit on Dot Records, a cover of the original by Cathy Carr on Fraternity. Interestingly, both were recorded at the same studio, Universal in Chicago, with the same engineers.

Because of the previous comments expressing differing opinions, I don't know who it is singing this song.
But, I vaguely remember hearing this on the radio when I was small.
It's a grrrrr=REAT song!!!

This IS Gale Storm singing. Gale's version of this made #6 in April of 56 compared to Cathy Carr's version which made #2 a month earlier.

...and the Cathy Carr version was later purchased from Fraternity (out of Cincinnati) by Dot records and re-released by Dot.
