Hey, both developers grew up! Insomnia Games - Spyro Naughty Dog - Crash Bandicoot, NOW, Insomniac Games - Resistance Naughty Dog - Uncharted. Which both are hits and took advantage of PS3's Blu-Ray disc space.
Why can't Insomniac just buy back the rights to Spyro, and bring it back to how I love it, screw Skylanders, it's bullshit, and actually feels like someone pointing and laughing at gamers who enjoy the classic trilogy. Rachet and Clank sucks nowadays, and I miss that little dragon!
@RAWTalentTube they even said on there website blog, they dont want spyro back. And activision stated that they will not sell spyro. So consider spyro a gonner :(
Insomniac made a bright, colorfull world. When they couldn't anymore, Universal did careless things with it, sold it to Sierra, who made it dark and violent-ish, and now it's under Activision. Well, at least Activision is bringing back a colorfull world...

the first three spyros produced by insomniac games were beyond imaginable. it was a great trilogy that must continue from the same developer because they were just amazing. the music, mini-games, characters and levels were outstanding. i would like to ask Mr. Ted Price if he can make just one more spyro game and i will be the happiest man on earth. thank you soo much for your support and for making these three games my favorites on the playstation.

Spyro didn't and wouldn't get boring after 3 games, the only thing that made it boring was the new developers changing spyro so much its like an entirely new game, I wish insomniac would've known that back then
@MRcomics09 Well look harder, the older games were all about freedom. Very open world, non-linear level progression, very far range of sight. The spyro games were built on open-world exploration and freedom, the new ones don't have that.. They're shitty attempts at RPGs now.
@DaFleegsta you're wrong. in "a hero's tail" you were able to breat fire a few seconds longer, double jump, breath fire, lightning, ice, and water, ride a hamster ball. many people hated playing as the penguin in "year of the dragon" because the flight controls sucked. THANKFULLY, in "a hero's tail" they fixed the controls and made them NON choppy. now that's freedom, insomniac never gave us that

I should've gone with the PS3 this generation, because nothing but dribble is coming out on the other platforms. Like an idiot, I bought a Wii in '06, and I'm now shamed into scraping bottom barrel for games at thrifts. At least I found Spyro 2 in great condition recently.
Hopefully, Insomniac won't collapse like other companies have.
Insomnaic makes great games, Universal shouldn't have taken Spyro from them because Spyro 1,2, and 3 were awesome. After that Spyro 4 and 5 were "OKAY" games, until "The Legend Of S**t." came around, same with when Naughty Dog lost Crash, cause after "Twinsanity" Crash sucked too.
@mathew19648 It's more than that. Having hands is what Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank does. What's the main thing his hands do? Use epic weapons. Spyro was dropped for not having cool powers. It was only until The Legend of Spyro when Spyro gained epic abilities. Insomniac is a very imaginative company, but the way they made Spyro made it hard for them to make it work better, so they willingly dropped it.
Look at freaking Nintendo. They do the same thing with Mario, and stupid Nintendo fans don't get tired and bored of it. Spyro made 3 games, and no one got bored of the same thing. Plus, Spyro had way more variety than Mario. Plus, after Ratchet: Gladiator/Deadlocked, there was nothing much that could of been done with Ratchet, but games are still being made. Don't get me wrong, I love that series, but I find it hypocritical that they think that Spyro was too much of the same.
@CrystalFissure: I am one who agrees with Insomniac about the old Spyro games getting old, but that was, in large part, because they were very simple. Ratchet and Clank has MANY more weapons, innovative levels and better (or more complex, either way) story. Ratchet and Clank is something I find to keep my attention a good amount longer than the old Spyro. Although, I find the new Spyro to be almost exactly as great as the Ratchet and Clanks games.

Actually, DOTD has a good amount of platforming, just instead of normal platforming, it's on the walls. The new games need less thinking, yes, but more preparation beofre playing it, so in a sense: Both have a good share of thinking involved. Alright, if that headache of yours stops you from acting like a know-it-all to fans of the new games (even if it's temporary), than my work here is done.

What if Spyro started out as LOS and then changed to the PS1 formula afterwards? Would you hate LOS or hate the PS1 formula for changing how it started? Think about it.
@MRcomic No, you just hit the bottom level of the area in which case you just go into flight-mode and float. The actual platforming is wall and ceiling gameplay and hazards. Not conventional platforming, but it's something. Then Spyro would've come first. Avatar is rather different. There's less story complexity in LOS & a more 1-track mindset to it. Just because the beginning & 2-3 characters are similar, that doesn't mean they copied it. That'd also mean there's dozens of other Avatar clones.
@vgman94 in terms of story, krome studios decided to copy "avatar: the last airbender". imagine if mario said "fuck the a mushrooma kingdom, i'mma living ina pineapple un the a sea" or imagine if crash copyed star wars. ok if spyro originates as an avatar clone, that all depends who comes first: avatar or spyro
Well they work in the same building and are friends as companies. They're almost brothers when it comes to games, that's why Crash and Spyro are like 2 peas in a pod.
I'd like to see that, and have their new selfs meet, but i wonder how that would work out. Oh, and i agree on that too, i want a console crossover, not a handheld, it would be much better on a console like the ones you mentioned.
I think Insomniac Games selling Spyro was good and bad. Even though the new owners graphics rock , the storylines suck and I get bored with it. They were right with selling it because there wasn't much you could do ith spyro. Unlike Ratchet who has hands, guns and ships and can go pretty much anywhere and anything can happen. If only spyro wasn't trapped in a colorful kiddy world...

(Part 2) He's an infant dragon trying to fly and failing all the time and he has a pathetic breath and an annoying voice and that's supposed to be awesome?! Get real, will ya? The new Spyro has a more serious story (look at the last cutscenes of the TLOS trilogy games to see what i mean) and better breathes; 2 attacks for each breath and there are 8 breathes with a single attack for the Fury. How can ALL that be inferior to that simple plaformer? It should AT LEAST be equal to it.

Actually, DOTD has a good amount of platforming, just instead of normal platforming, it's on the walls. The new games need less thinking, yes, but more preparation beofre playing it, so in a sense: Both have a good share of thinking involved. Alright, if that headache of yours stops you from acting like a know-it-all to fans of the new games (even if it's temporary), than my work here is done.

What if Spyro started out as LOS and then changed to the PS1 formula afterwards? Would you hate LOS or hate the PS1 formula for changing how it started? Think about it.

@MRcomic No, you just hit the bottom level of the area in which case you just go into flight-mode and float. The actual platforming is wall and ceiling gameplay and hazards. Not conventional platforming, but it's something. Then Spyro would've come first. Avatar is rather different. There's less story complexity in LOS & a more 1-track mindset to it. Just because the beginning & 2-3 characters are similar, that doesn't mean they copied it. That'd also mean there's dozens of other Avatar clones.

I think Insomniac Games selling Spyro was good and bad. Even though the new owners graphics rock , the storylines suck and I get bored with it. They were right with selling it because there wasn't much you could do ith spyro. Unlike Ratchet who has hands, guns and ships and can go pretty much anywhere and anything can happen. If only spyro wasn't trapped in a colorful kiddy world...
