  • What was the march being played? It was played at my passing out parade and I've never known what it was

  • quality is shit

  • Does anyone know the story with mace drill? You see it when Drum Majors carry it and sort of swing it at an angle and other times, like in this video, its put on the floor and brought up and round. Presumably there's a reason for this.... I just don't know what it is....

    Any help?

  • this is not a parade! this is changing of the guard, they march to the palace or back to the baracks.

what they do at trooping the colour is a parade (the queens birthday parade).

  • is it true the irish guard also protect the queen like in the same way these guys do

  • There are the Irish guards, Scots guards, Coldstream guards, Grenadier guards and the Welsh guards.

  • wtf wen i go london i usualy stood there while thousands of soilders walk passed y are there not alot of them

  • You probably witnessed 'Trooping the Colour'.

This is just a daily change of guards.

  • does anybody know the name of the song that they are playing

  • the march was Arromanches.....pity about the sound....m@rty

  • I never see any black people as guards. Are they not permitted to be guards???

  • I've seen plenty of black men in the foot guards.

  • I saw some...

  • Racism is illegal in the UK...

  • i was in that parade :)

  • and glyn they always carry upto date firearms, they are active, they actually PROTECT Buckingham palace, and i cant remmber who but some guards carry radios on their backs i think incase they need help/assistance

  • radios carry scrambling devices that block radio controlled bombs from going off since the IRA threat became higher. Obviously still useful in todays current climate

  • Poor audio...

  • in the 80s and that they wore grey jackets and carried manchine guns coz of the irsh terrorists

  • They are attired in Grey greatcoats during the winter months and ceremonial reds in the Summer months...

  • ahh cheers dude i was gunna ask someone why i sometimes see them i grey then others in red

  • Yes why exactly ? I'm asking the same question ....

  • it depends on dress. their grey uniform is for winter conditions while in summer time and you will find they wear their "red coats"

  • although these are actually scarlett or somin' like that

  • They still carry the combat rifle of the Army..

  • SA-80, years ago they used the L1A1, and before that the Lee-Enfield

  • quality is not good :s

  • The march they are playing is called 'Arromanches'. It is the Band of the Coldstream Guards and followed by men from 'F Company' Scots Guards.
