Dave looks and sounds better here then on the new tour. He's more laid back here. And he's not dressed like a waiter at a cheesy mexican restaraunt. Also, his hair is longer and looks cooler. But, I don't like the guitarists tone as much as Eddie's.
You think you can tell what that guitar sounds like from a cheezy little youtube video? Im sure it sounded completely different live than it does on a low res vid on youtube.
I know it would sound different live. But this video is pretty high quality. I bet they spent alot of time mixing and editing this in a studio before they released it. Thus, they got the guitar to sound good. I never said I think this tone is bad, just not as good as EVH's. I'm sure many people would agree. If you like it more, that's your opinion. Tone is subjective.
