If we all just stopped eating animals, the main animals we eat would overpopulate, then they would make their food go extinct, then die, then that animal's food would overpopulate, and THEIR food would go extinct, then eventually that animal. See where I'm getting at? Humans eating animals plays a key role in controlling overpopulation, as does hunting. Hopefully that wasn't too complicated.

i'm sure a lion thinks that lions are the most important species. it's just relative. when you start ranking things in the world based on importance, you must ask yourself "important for what?" what's the ultimate goal? i think it is to be a bad person to care more about this planet than the people living on it. to me, this planet is only important because it allows us to survive. if there were another planet i could live on with my family and friends, i wouldn't care if this one blew up.

I don't think you need to be a vegetarian to be able to stand up for animal rights. We play an important role in the food web and in the dynamic balance of the ecosystem. It's the prey-predator relationship that has existed for years. That's nature's call. The issue here is mistreating animals. Torturing or killing animals for pleasure or fashion is what I think is unacceptable. So, kudos to Kara for standing up and bringing this issue into the public eye!

no, and they're not wackos....I don't eat red meat or pork...still eat chicken, fish and turkey...I'm 64 and don't have the balls to be a vegan...........but I will tell you, PETA is a great, animal interest and rights organization...I respect them tremendously...and support them...never once has PETA sent me info on having to be a vegan.........but they have sent me info on horrendous things done to animals that they are trying to stop. this is a really good bunch...including me.
