Maybe make the different colored blocks take multiple hits, if you know how to do that. If not i'm sure you could ask on SMWcentral. That's all I can say.

Reason why I ask is because I may be able to ... well.. ASM-hack a scroll at will always on. This is a trigger when Mario is doing a certain action that you can always leave "on".
Problem is, Breakout becomes alot harder when the screen moves....

SPW3 is supposed to be played with Savestates and Rewinds, but not with Slowdowns. So you are both right. This is horribly hard.
