@paulyvi: 4 digit cars weren't uncommon on tpir for many years after this, i have eps taped from the spring and summer of 1991 where many 4 figure priced cars were given away...
Thanks for the nice comment. That was me playing that game and it was the most stressful few minutes of my life. I did not appreciate the lag time it took to see the last number come down. That was way too much for me to handle!
I've seen this video before on December 22, 1983 and there is video clip on YouTube of this lady playing the game and she won the car in Temptation however, the game was malfunctioned because Bob Barker could NOT push the last button on the price of the car.

No one ever seems to get the point of the bumpers or the weblinks, do they? Sooner or later, I'm making a vid about this.
gamshwfan is right, I do this to the vids in order to prevent pirating, since that's what happened to me a few months ago. It's a precautionary measure.
I've given him a chance, and he's actually getting worse as times goes on. He talks way too fast, doesn't care about the contestants or the games, can't even explain the games clearly, and frankly seems bored onstage. I honestly feel even I could do a better job hosting.

I know he isn't Bob Barker. But, Drew knew he had big shoes to fill, and we all knew so. Bob told Drew to do the show the way he wants to, the same advice Ralph Edwards gave Bob. Looks like you're one of those people who could do away with him, but in my opinion, I think Drew's doing a good job. I respect your opinion, though.
You are right about that, Mike. At first I didn't think he would do too well, but I have to admit he's improved since his first few months with the show.
Drew is doing the best job he possibly can. Much like you can't compare eras in sports, you can't compare the Barker era in TPIR to Carey's. The show is Drew's now and he's doing a decent job in hosting it. The production comopany, on the other hand, is another issue.
I'm not so sure about that. I'm sure some people thought the same thing you did when Bob Barker started hosting after Bill Cullen did the original for nine years. Just give it some time and I think Drew will nail it just fine.
Watch the early Barker episodes, and while he wasn't as good as ten years later, he was still having fun, knew how to deal with an audience (years of hosting TofC helps), and could explain the games. Drew can't do that at all, and in fact he's getting worse, almost like he doesn't care.

Oh, yeah right. That's your opinion, which I respect.
But I'll be honest, Drew's doing his job. Let him do his job the way he wants to. That's the same advice Ralph Edwards gave Bob Barker when Bob did Truth or Consequences
@someguy23475 drew knows the rules, bob made mistakes too where he said in a 3 strikes playing in the late 90's u explain the rules to me, drew isnt like that he knows the rules and in case there are new viewers at home hell explain the rules and most contestants who get up on there know the rules to every game
The Car in Temptation was $9000 nice but the gifts were still LOW, compared to the GIFTS now seen in Temptation, one 5000, why so low for 1983?
tpir1972 2 weeks ago in playlist price is right christmas 1983
YT police is starting to crack down on the TPIR and shutting down all the good classic eps. :(

@jmangin I stopped doing them a good while back!
mtiller2006 4 months ago
Cars were already upto $9,000 in 1983 wow, not bad.
tpir1972 10 months ago
Bob tried like five times to get the last number to reveal itself, but when he couldn't, that's when the contestant took matters into her own hands.

It seems Temptation was easier to win in the old days, today it's harder.

Actually, $11,793 if you add in the Christmas Tree, nearly $12,000 for 1983, not too bad.

Yup. Good lord that's a lot of money. I could buy one for $40 and it would still work as good.

If you'll look carefully to the far right at 1:11
you can just about see 3 Strikes Game
as the camera cuts to Bob Barker. Today,
the show hides games like this more
often, so that they can never be seen until
the curtains reveal them all.
