I got my lip tattooed almost three years ago. It stuck perfectly fine, and I haven't had to have it touched up or redone whatsoever. My girlfriend, on the other hand, got her lip tattooed and it "fell out" within a month. I think it depends on a lot of things...whether the artist is heavy handed, whether your skin decides to take the ink, and so on..
