I'd agree that this cover isn't great. So do the guys in Reel Big Fish.

On their DVD "You're All In This Together", part of the live set "Our Live Album Is Better than Your Live Album" they re do this cover, but with Ali from Zebrahead doing some of the vocals. Same set up otherwise. It's way awesome.

And on the commentary they talk about how they covered it previously and it sucked.
