Damaged recorded Nails live in the Bridge Mall in 94 in the rotunda out front of Brashes, I have never seen the footage, anyone out there got it? I remeber a dude diving off the roof onto bricks, was crazy!
Do Not Spit is one of the greatest metal albums of the 90's. When it came out, it was like nothing else & it's as powerful today as it was when it came out. The sign of a true classic.
Was a wicked concert jumpin of balconies smacked on whiskey and with my mate who stacked his car later on that nite . sure beats livin in chile now !!!!!!
I remember that "homie" getting chased too. I also remember the singer for damaged bitching about the abuse he was getting and saying "we're not all here to see Cannibal Corpse" haha.
wish i had some more video. i still think tolken remedies was one of the greatest releases of all time. way before it's time. true powerful vocals and riffing. hail.....
I went to the under 18s. What an arvo!! Out front of Phonecian waiting to get in, watched a "homie" get chased down the street by a brigade of black shirts :) Got in, aftermath 1st Then Damaged hit the stage and "Holy Shit!!" totally blew me away! everyone went nut's we were all flying off the stage in all directions! The drummer got pissed off cause people were knocking the cymbals over. I got my head split open half way through the cannibal corpse set! Good Times.
Cool, Cant beleive you have footage of this show!!! Is This the Over or Under 18's show? This was one of the first death metal shows I went to & still one of the best I've seen!! Thanks.
It was most likely the over 18s as there would have been alcohol served. Also it was at night. I have the entire show and about 45 minutes of the Cannibal Corpse set.
Don't underestimte how good this band was! I strongly recommend that you track down a copy of one of their 3 or 4 CD's (original line up)? I have listened to alot of music over the years of many genres and this band was and still is bloody awesome! The fact that they are Australian is the only reason they didn't get the exposure to succeed overseas. I strongly recommend that connoisseurs of the heavier style of music listen to their studio recordings.
Especially check out 'Do not Spit' & 'Passive backseat demon engines' (which I think you can buy as a double pack). Anyway, Damaged at their absolute best!! Awsome band!
I was there, They came on before Cannibal Corpse and my old next door neighbor Wayne Campbell was the drummer for Damaged and also for Mortal Sin. Thanks for posting the vid, it brought back memories.
The bloke behind the drum kit is called Matt Skitz. Wayne Campbell couldn't drum that fast to save himself. Skitzy's in TERRORUST now if your keen to check out his new work..
I remember Matt telling me that he got as good as he did when he lived in a pub basement or something, and could play as loud as he wanted whenever he wanted, so practiced constantly
