I'm offended at the fact that you'd take such a silly, misinformed judgment and such a poorly-worded comment as the absolute truth and even have the gall to say that you weigh his opinion more than mine. So what if I'm Indonesian? I've lived outside Indonesia nearly all my life so of course I'm bound to be more open minded. I love Jakarta, and I love South-east Asia.

You can think of whatever you want, but so you know, I've been to Bangkok, KL, and Singapore, and I'd only say that Singapore is "better" than Jakarta. @clubkid14 I obviously like the city? Where did that unreasoned conclusion come from? I know the place inside out and precisely how ugly it is. I know that there are problems of corruption, congestion, poverty and inequality. What the first poster forgot to mention was exactly what other points the city has -- amazing food (please, KL has nothing on Jakarta), fantastic, accomodating people (still the nicest among KL and Singapore).

Jakarta is the worst city in ASEAN.. or at least to be compared to Singapore, Bangkok and KL.. I went there once.. but I will never comeback again.. Indonesian are suck! If I come again to southeast asia in the future I will only come to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand..

In Brazil happens something called ruralization, people from big cities move to small cities with a good quality of life for sake of traffic, etc... etc... My city is pretty small, only 500 thousand, but has universities, international companies, a huge economy, so people from SP and RJ come to live here. I would prefere to live in a small city in Indonesia. Can't hard wait to move there.
