Guys, this torture test is useless ok, you know how I know? AK47's from the Russian invasion of Afghanistan (30 years ago) have been dug up (30 years underground mind), given a basic cleaning, and fired perfectly.

You drive over it with a Main Battle Tank and maybe you'll get a misfire?

@MooradianProductions Anyone who really understands the Kalashnikov rifle platform knows they AREN'T precise shooters. However, that being said, the AK DOES perform in what it was meant to do...that is hit a man-sized torso at ~300 yards and kill him with a MOA of about 3/4.

Also, even if they were going to leave the dirt in it, they would have to make sure the barrel is clear. Firing any firearm with an obstructed barrel can easily result in the death of the oporator. It's hardly worth dying over a demonstration video.

@13aby3ater It does... Bullet size alone doesn't determine how lethal a round is. The behavior of a .223 round does more tissue damage. 7.62 rounds often pass completely through their target, maintaining much of their energy after exiting. .223's on the other hand, more often transfer all of their energy into the target, resulting in much more damage. This has been demonstrated in numerous tests.

Yes even the original Kala too. 1 of my ARs has over 30K rounds through it with only the bolt carrier and key being oiled. Never cleaned an never dropped a round. The 5.45 makes it wobble less but still not as accurate as the heavy barrel AR in any normal or alternative universe. That said the AK guys always say the same thing over and over that the AR jams. @scorpioncrow 3 ton truck? Just like with your tank example, just because a truck weighes 3 tons, that doesn't mean there is 3 tons of pressure on the gun. Trucks have a minimum of 4 tires correct? That means that the 3 tons is equally distributed among those 4 tires... That's 1500lbs per tire. Now, considering that out of the total surface area of the tire, that less than half of that is on the gun at any one time, that reduces the load to 700lbs or less...

It has do to with inconsistency resulting from harmononic issues caused by the way the weak ass front site, cleaning rod holder and gas tubes connect to the barrel at critical points, along with how high the piston tube is off the barrel, creating a huge amount of torque. These together cause a huge whipping effect, resulting in bullets flying in different directions

The reason why the AK is so popular world wide is because there was so much surplus left over, and that surplus was distrubuted all over the world. Also, Russia shared their design with many other countries that didn't have any firearm building technology at all, and helped them set up factories to produce them. Also, Russia's always been such a poor country they didn't have the money to invest in retooling, and redesigning.

@sveqete96 It's not stupid and unrealistic at all. knowing the limitations of your weapon could one day save your life. And in battle any scenario is possible, so it's very realistic.
Note he was skipping it along the ground. I run AK's exclusively - but any drop from serious height will risk two major things: the magazine breaking/exerting too much pressure on the mag lips, and the pistol grips breaking (some pistol grip securing blocks are weak metal, and the screw inside can split them). That's about it. You can chuck an AK all day, and if it doesn't break one of those two - you're good to go.
My friends panicked when I simply tossed my AK during a course of fire.

@RottSimba Check out some damage comparisons tests between 7.62 and .223, and note how the .223 does more damage. Also, a bullet has to hit the target object in order for it to do damage. That's a key reality.
the 7.62x39 offers more kinetic energy,but the 5.56mm NATO tumbles around,causing additional damage,therefore you are correct.but the AK has good stopping power anyways,and can be beaten with a sledgehammer thrown off a 100 foot cliff and into the gates of hell(exgaggeration) and still survive.that is what i love about the AK47/74

@13aby3ater It does... Bullet size alone doesn't determine how lethal a round is. The behavior of a .223 round does more tissue damage. 7.62 rounds often pass completely through their target, maintaining much of their energy after exiting. .223's on the other hand, more often transfer all of their energy into the target, resulting in much more damage. This has been demonstrated in numerous tests.

@scorpioncrow Oh I know very well. Been shooting for 25 years now and have used both rifles. The biggest problem with the AK is it doesn't hit a thing it is aimed at. Yes even the original Kala too. 1 of my ARs has over 30K rounds through it with only the bolt carrier and key being oiled. Never cleaned an never dropped a round. No need to do more but people that don't know a thing keep thinking they fail if not babied. I know more then you ever will but you keep talking out your ass anyway fool.

@scorpioncrow The 74 is a little better but still needs to put more work in the barrels. The 5.45 makes it wobble less but still not as accurate as the heavy barrel AR in any normal or alternative universe. That said the AK guys always say the same thing over and over that the AR jams. It doesn't any more or less then an AK. Talk about getting old. Besides the original AK wasn't accurate that is why they dropped the round size. So much or a perfect rifle.

@SplittingSkulls None stop with out Cleaning it. I've Seen Ak left in mud for weeks until the Bolt Rusted shut, Then Broken open and fired its flawlessly. Ive Seen 74 thrown off a 2 story building, Immediately before getting Ran over by a 3 ton truck, Picked up and Shot full auto. Shot with Sand, Water, in the Guts, Its as Unstoppable as it Can Get PERIOD!!! Not saying it never fails! but put the tests on any M16 fam that the Aks get, And see who comes out on the Top!!!

@scorpioncrow Shot an AR after it was run over by an Abrams by accident. Busted hand grip but shot just fine. Don't know what to tell ya but I will put my AR 16" barrel against any AK in a distant shoot and guarantee that the AK ain't hitting what I do. Just keep beating you AK I will be shooting my AR. @scorpioncrow My point was that even after being run over by a 60 ton tank the AR only had a busted hand grip. It still worked fine so the idea that they are so fucking delicate is bullshit. Didn't realize you were that slow and needed your hand held through a full explanation. Since no one in combat is going to just throw their rifle around no matter the model, the tank is a real world torture test not some one fucktarded enough to toss a rifle in the rocks in hopes it will still work.

@scorpioncrow 3 ton truck? Just like with your tank example, just because a truck weighes 3 tons, that doesn't mean there is 3 tons of pressure on the gun. Trucks have a minimum of 4 tires correct? That means that the 3 tons is equally distributed among those 4 tires... That's 1500lbs per tire. Now, considering that out of the total surface area of the tire, that less than half of that is on the gun at any one time, that reduces the load to 700lbs or less...

@scorpioncrow Wow, try aiming the sites lower? The accuracy problem with AKs has absolutely nothing to do with sight placement. It has do to with inconsistency resulting from harmononic issues caused by the way the weak ass front site, cleaning rod holder and gas tubes connect to the barrel at critical points, along with how high the piston tube is off the barrel, creating a huge amount of torque. These together cause a huge whipping effect, resulting in bullets flying in different directions

The reason why the AK is so popular world wide is because there was so much surplus left over, and that surplus was distrubuted all over the world. Also, Russia shared their design with many other countries that didn't have any firearm building technology at all, and helped them set up factories to produce them. Also, Russia's always been such a poor country they didn't have the money to invest in retooling, and redesigning.

Another one of the main reasons why Russia adopted the AK, and continues to produce variations of it, is because the extremely fast and cheap production cost of it. The whole point of that video was to demonstrate how the m-16 is sealed much better, which doesn't allow the dirt to enter it so easily. The AK has so many gaps in it that dirt can in fact get into it easily. Again, there's not a semi-auto/automatic firearm in the world that would operate while filled with dirt.

Note he was skipping it along the ground. I run AK's exclusively - but any drop from serious height will risk two major things: the magazine breaking/exerting too much pressure on the mag lips, and the pistol grips breaking (some pistol grip securing blocks are weak metal, and the screw inside can split them). That's about it. You can chuck an AK all day, and if it doesn't break one of those two - you're good to go.
My friends panicked when I simply tossed my AK during a course of fire.

Thats a naive statement. It's always possible for something to land just right and cause enough damag to reduce performance or totally prevent operation. @RottSimba Check out some damage comparisons tests between 7.62 and .223, and note how the .223 does more damage. Also, a bullet has to hit the target object in order for it to do damage. That's a key reality.
