People who blame Courtney for Kurt's demise are fucking clueless...
Never judge a person unless you've been in their shoes...and I've been in hers, only on a much smaller scale. My guy had money, was loved and talented...There is NOTHING glamourous or easy about loving a junkie! It is a constant struggle, anxiety and competition that you cannot win...No matter how nice a person they are or how much they love you, if they keep on using - drugs ALWAYS come first! And eventually everyone loses...
@ravenorkel heres the difference shes a known liar and messed up person..you obviously seem logical so i assume u r some what normal. her father thinks hes crazy, her daughter thinks shes crazy, and most people thinks shes crazy.shes a lying bitch who shud definitly be a suspect (not saying it was her forsure) but when she says shes going to LA on buisnees and then checked into a hospitol for drug abuse, and then lied to the detective she hired to find kurt u seee a trend good for suspicion.
More like proof that he did. He was extremely troubled and suicidal for years and you can tell by every single soundbite. Not sure what you were listening to..
What a troubled guy he was :(. Trying to get off the alcohol myself and can understand some of his feelings. I really think if he would of just got out and exercised and physically enjoyed the world his life would of been way more tolerable for him.
omg Kurt, you've been such a big jerk..you were so stupid..God..you could quit, let go..you could give up..you hated fame right? you could just stop doing that..and keep living your life..but not dieing, why so? fans and ppl would be more thankful if you lived and..damn you were a legend,YOU ARE A LEGEND...ppl still miss you,nad everytime I hear him I get depressed of unfairness of life ppl that talented must never die..
@annleto1 i feel your anger and hurt through your words... i feel ya... but would he get so much attention?? just a point thats all... i love him, pac, j dilla, sublime, jimi hendrix, the list goes on and on and sadly on... depression... drugs... darkness... ones brain doesnt always chose the "right way"... its completely selfish, agreed.. no doubt. but it isnt that simple for the person on the otha end... hard to explain.. one love*
@annleto1 I don't think not liking fame was even close to his biggest problem. Some people just want to die, it's as simple as that. Anyway, if you're gonna say it was unfair to someone, say it's unfair to his family! You don't even know him, sure you like his music, but you've still got that right? I loved him too, and I'm sad that he's dead, but how he died doesn't matter. He had problems for a long time and fought through them, they just got to be too much in the end
Such an intelligent person underneath his dark side, he needed to let that beautiful part of him shine instead of letting that dark part of him blanket over him and suffer to the nth degree because of it. In his defense fame will either make you or break you and so very very tragically it broke him. He will always be missed. RIP Kurt Cobain thanks for all your music and inspiration.
@hfg23thewest Rock is Dead, anyway. You're going to have to live up to high standards these days, because what most people want to listen to is stuff like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, so its really hard. I know :(
those last 10 seconds or so about describing about being anti social, and then in a dazed socially and then banishing every fucker insight of him again, made me smile cause enjoy being that way myself at times. FTW
I dont care what anyone says i think he's amazing.. the way he thinks is just perfect.. his music is perfect.. he is perfect!!! :D The only thing is being this deep can fuck with your head.. stil though i think id prefer to be deep than not think about these things at all.
I started fucking crying when he was talking about Frances growing up and his future. You know he thought about that shit all the time, growing up with her, having her in his life. So sad that she didn't have him as a father figure growing up.
its sad.... his music killed him. his fans killled him... but like his suicide note said at the very end "its better to burn out, than fade away" neil young had it right
hey guys this is from a documentary called about a son. Every should check it out, it's narrated by cobain, he did a bunch of interviews with Micheal azzareand, i spelled it right, and he just talks about his life, past, present and at ties future and the narration is synched to these images, pretty cool stuff
I dont like this. Not because it is a bad interview or i dont like him. I do not think this is a bad interview and i love him.
I dont like it cos it makes me sad knowing what happened to him. He sometimes sounds in this interview like he never wants to die and wants to sort his life out.
Regardless of what people think of Kurt Cobain...He really did have a good influence on a lot of people...He taught people to be themselves no matter what other people think...And that's what's important. His music was a way for him to cope with society. He should have kept with the only drug that is except able...Music. What ever it is that he was looking for I'm sure we'll never understand. But He still remains as a beacon of hope for the people in life that don't really have a place in life..
I mean, the media would make out they were a big fan of a star on the day they met them! and not be bothered about them the next day! and something else! loads of media/paper people don't listen to rock n roll! damn! they are mostly into the lastest top 10 crap! the trendy crap! I could never talk to them about music in my job! they knew nothing! eventhough they thought they knew everything
Ive worked for the media!! I was a mascot character who dresses up! went to alot of events etc and it was good fun! but I can also say this, alot of media people are fake!! I just hated the way they would suddenly become fans of a star just because they got to meet them?? etc. they would only care about selling! getting their story!! and one day! they actually screwed me out of my job :) the media are pretty cold! doesn't matter if you work hard or care about things! they work like robots
Nirvana is my favorite band I never wanted to sing before i listened to kurt. It is sad that he didnt rly understand alot of the things he says is an effect of depression. I am much more depressed then he ever was, and brown is my drug of choice. But I understand most of the things I talka bout such as the world and my negative views is because im so miserable adn depressed. I see comments in videos about how sad they are bout kurt, what about me what about everyone else. im miserable
@reeeisrubber and you will stay miserable if you dont give up the brown, stop using drugs that make you depressed and then wine about everything. no one gives a shit about your problems if your gunna wine about them.
step1, give up the drugs.
step 2, start eating healthier and exercising and sleeping properly.
step 3, make some life goals give yourself something to work towards.
step 4, make new freinds, the ones you have now are prob druggos too and will only hold you back.
it was crazy to hear him talk about yrs down the line...talkin to his daughter....& jus the future ........i jus cant believe its been seventeen yrs......r.i.p kurt.
Listening to this makes me sad, just to know that he's gone...every time I hear his voice in an interview or see a video of him it just makes me feel like he's still alive..then again,he still is alive,in my mind and heart..love you Kurt,R.I.P
dude was clearly severely depressed and the drugs and alcohol only exacerbated his mental health issues leading to suicide. this sort of shit happens all the time.
these are my favourite pieces so far that i've found on youtube about kurt......... and he just has so much to say that can't be explained; his words are the ones i've been trying to figure out how to say for years
He was so young. I am 27 today and he will always be younger than I... I have loved him since my childhood and have never realised how young he were. He has always been an adult for me, a man, that sort of thing... 'cause I was 12 myself. Today I realise that he was just a boy, a child. A teenager in his twenties. He never had an opportunity to grow up. Rest in peace, Kurt.
drugs are beautiful- you're the fucking addict, not the drug. You cause your problems, don't blame a substance because if it wasnt opiates, coke, meth, whatever...
I hope I can be like him one day. He just continues to be true and honest even when there is every reason and every excuse to abandon that authenticity
He did kill himself. When I was a junkie, id lie to myself about being alright. Its the classic saying "we'll quit after this one." Its denial and life as a junkie is very bewildering, to say the least.
@ttolmbrftttwtbopat It's not something most people should understand. Besides, that's why there are drug treament centers. It's not expected that addicts can help themselves.
@theplatoiskindayummy I know--it's like I want this hell 2end I'm done then you're dopesick& it just doesn't happen I used for 7yrs plus a methadone clinic finally I reached the point where I didn't care I was climbing the walls w/my legs. I tried to commit suicide I shot up a shitload of horse tranquilzers friend was worried cuz I didn't answer phone called 911 EMS kicked the door in& I remeber basically nothing-they took the bottle of stuff, needle still in my thumb &now I have 10yrs clean!
i love kurt cobain. no homo. hes alot like me. a sometimes antisocial innocent guy who was fucked by retards in this world. he inspires me to live on. instead of killing myself
I'm not gonna say I believe this and i'm not comparing these two bands, but this theory has some merit now to me after hearing him in this interview. It's thought that kurt might be shaun morgan from seether, and ik they are very different bands but there is virtually no history on shaun morgan until he came to america.
This is deep... I wish he would have kept going in spite of those he thought wanted to see him die... NOT EVERYONE wanted you to die Kurt!!! You're forever missed!!! Damn, this makes me sad!
Kurt's talking about his relationship with the bad journalists, ones who will just publish a bunch of bullshit for a paycheck. I think it was wrong of him to group all journalists together and say he hates all of them and has no respect for journalists in general. However, I agree with him in the fact that spreading lies for money is disgusting.
@brnwlch00 Cobain was no martyr. A great songwriter, yes, but that doesn't overlook the cowardly and selfish act of taking his life and abandoning his family. That responsibility is his and his alone.
Kurt Cobain is so selfish. How can you get bored and not love to play infront of massive crowds filled with supportive and loving fans? Also taking your life for your music is just stupid. I understand how he can become so attatched to his music but killing yourself isn't the right answer to anything. Escpecially for your music. Other than that, pretty interesting interview.
@MaryOOnanyan8D victoria clarke, a journalist who published the article in vanity fair that said that courtney was doing heroin while she was pregnant, i think
i adore how he doesn't give a fuck, he knows he was different and he wasn't scared to show it to the world. he had so much passion for everything, thats why kurt cobain was one of the best people that could ever possibly live.
Kurts right, jounalists are the most evil, shit twisted things on earth! the sape shit and minipulate to torture people and then convince people what to believe without getting shit straight! I feel for you kurt
Love Kurt Cobain,.. and he wasnt a drug junkie.. he was a music junkie.. he was in love with music... he was all about playing.. not the money..nor the fame.. just to play for the love of music.
@DanielChannon: Drugs didn't have a big hold on Kurt. Novoselic said, "Smack was only a small part of his life." Particularly after Kurt was prescribed a non-opiate for his stomach condition. There is evidence he was murdered.
this was kurt at his worst... i was screaming at him during this interview... he coulda moved on to a great new high... a new level man... the dude from rem was trying to get him into rehab, he was bi polar, and these are his frickin darkest entries. The people who posted this video are exploiting a personal friend here. Is there no rest for the dead? Let sleeping dogs lie. I mean who wants cake? no seriously. is nothing sacred.
Why are flannel shirts associated with grunge when everytime you see Kurt he's usually got all kinds of random shaws and fucking sweaters and shit on?
@whereisthesanity Cause a lady journalist at vanity fair twisted facts around and made it sound like Love was taking drugs while pregnant, and that Francis was born hooked to heroin, causing the police to take there baby away and almost breaking the whole family apart thru her lies.
wow kurt really hit the nail on the head. journalists are the lowest fuck heads on earth wow thats preatty sweet noticing how aloooooooooot of people feel the same, god i love how kurt didnt take any of the fame and stuff his head with it, then again kurt HATED all of the attention he was such a cool guy... R.I.P. Kurt
@hippypower69 Really? He's almost quoting his suicide note in this interview... I don't see any huge discrepancies. He feels empty, doesn't enjoy performing like he used to and is coping with a heroin addiction.
I just wish he stayed alive, not just for himself but for his daughter. As a fan I can only imagine where he would have gone with his music... I imagine it would have been more melodic and less aggressive. I know he was going to collab with REM around the time of his death.
@StevooooooBell: In the note he said he had grown to find performing empty. He wished he could be as enthusiastic about it as Freddie Mercury. That says nothing about how he felt about living in general. He said nothing about heroin. The note was NOT a suicide note. Only the last few lines hint at suicide, and they are in a different handwriting, forged on. Guess who had a note practicing his handwriting shortly before his death? Courtney Love.
If Kurt hated the mainstream press then he would've REALLY hated the internet blogs and message boards of today. If he didn't commit suicide in the 90's chances are he probably would've done it 5 years ago. Could you imagine someone as anti-social and self absorbed as Kurt Cobain was on facebook or twitter?
@sakonhagakure Personnaly, I know a dude (one of the most anti-social guys ever; Asperger's Syndrome) who's 'surviving' (as he told me himself) by discussing with 'virtual' peoples who think like him/have the same interests. If there wasn't all these social connections by internet, I'm sure that he wouldn't be 19 years today; anti-social individuals can feel 'not that alone' today, because we're all connected.
''If you die you're completely happy and your soul somewhere lives on. I'm not afraid of dying. Total peace after death, becoming someone else is the best hope I've got.'' - Kurt Cobain
I think he should've branched out & produced others' music or made films when he started getting tired of touring.Such lost potential.Kurt was brilliant
He said it himself, he hates people attacking his family.
I believe that is Courtney included. Yeah, she was/is fucked up.
But news flash, he was too. They had a lot in common together, and I believe in general, they cared for each other.
They weren't good for each other though, not because one is crazy or not, but because they were both cynical drug addicts with suicidal tendencies.

I'm not gonna say I believe this and i'm not comparing these two bands, but this theory has some merit now to me after hearing him in this interview. It's thought that kurt might be shaun morgan from seether, and ik they are very different bands but there is virtually no history on shaun morgan until he came to america.

sparkytrick 10 months ago 123
@sparkytrick

That responsibility is his and his alone.

yo kurt!! happy birthday my man.
hiphoppernonstopper 11 months ago
Kurt Cobain is so selfish. How can you get bored and not love to play infront of massive crowds filled with supportive and loving fans? Also taking your life for your music is just stupid. I understand how he can become so attatched to his music but killing yourself isn't the right answer to anything. Escpecially for your music. Other than that, pretty interesting interview.

its a shame drugs had such a big hold on him, personally i think thats the biggest reason he commited suicide
DanielChannon 1 year ago
@DanielChannon: Drugs didn't have a big hold on Kurt. Novoselic said, "Smack was only a small part of his life." Particularly after Kurt was prescribed a non-opiate for his stomach condition. There is evidence he was murdered.
judyleasugar97 1 year ago
this was kurt at his worst... i was screaming at him during this interview... he coulda moved on to a great new high... a new level man... the dude from rem was trying to get him into rehab, he was bi polar, and these are his frickin darkest entries. The people who posted this video are exploiting a personal friend here. Is there no rest for the dead? Let sleeping dogs lie. I mean who wants cake? no seriously. is nothing sacred.

Kurt Cobain was murderd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hippypower69 1 year ago
@hippypower69 Really? He's almost quoting his suicide note in this interview... I don't see any huge discrepancies. He feels empty, doesn't enjoy performing like he used to and is coping with a heroin addiction.
I just wish he stayed alive, not just for himself but for his daughter. As a fan I can only imagine where he would have gone with his music... I imagine it would have been more melodic and less aggressive. I know he was going to collab with REM around the time of his death.
RIP Kurt
StevooooooBell 1 year ago
@StevooooooBell: In the note he said he had grown to find performing empty. He wished he could be as enthusiastic about it as Freddie Mercury. That says nothing about how he felt about living in general. He said nothing about heroin. The note was NOT a suicide note. Only the last few lines hint at suicide, and they are in a different handwriting, forged on. Guess who had a note practicing his handwriting shortly before his death? Courtney Love.

agre23 1 year ago
If Kurt hated the mainstream press then he would've REALLY hated the internet blogs and message boards of today. If he didn't commit suicide in the 90's chances are he probably would've done it 5 years ago. Could you imagine someone as anti-social and self absorbed as Kurt Cobain was on facebook or twitter?
sakonhagakure 1 year ago
@sakonhagakure Personnaly, I know a dude (one of the most anti-social guys ever; Asperger's Syndrome) who's 'surviving' (as he told me himself) by discussing with 'virtual' peoples who think like him/have the same interests. If there wasn't all these social connections by internet, I'm sure that he wouldn't be 19 years today; anti-social individuals can feel 'not that alone' today, because we're all connected.
