it's a powerhouse strat, which is a great strat if you know how to use the knobs to your advantage. your "intonation" problem is called stratitis and it's caused by having your pickups too close to the strings. lower them and you'll be good. the knob "gets stuck" so that you won't accidentally move it. i replaced a bent volume pot on mine and i sincerely miss the "getting stuck" part because i accidentally lower my volume all the time. fyi that originally came with an aged pearloid pickguard.

I always play with the e string slightly of key (lower than it should be). When you press it bends a little a goes to key perfectly.

You might want to check your nut. If you've tried to set intonation and cant, it could be the nut throwing it all off or a raised/broken saddle.

sounds like crap for having active electronics...I have EMGs in mine and the clean sound will blow that thing away. I play through a Marshal also.

Mine does not give Harmonics too good on the Neck Pickup have you tried it on the Bridge only Pickup -- Charles
