Page's voice has changed so much over the years and I think that is the biggest reason people don't like the new stuff. Imagine this song sung by 1992 Page Hamilton, it probably would be awesome.

When Betty came out so many people were pissed because Page didn't sing like he did on Meantime or Strap it on. I loved Betty, best album imo.

The best part of Helmet is that if I turn on anything from Meantime, young kids will get into them. Their earlier works are timeless and simply kick ass.

@LetsFeedit you may be right but 2 things I dare to say . 1 I think Page's musical vision is more experimental and conceptual than esthetically complient and the change was confirmed after the after taste..Because is not his vision and it wont work with the songs they play live. Monochrome confirmed what I'm saying, his careless vocals tells you is not about that anymore.

I hope you heared their nu material, he played some of it on his las visit to las Vegas and get ready is totally kick@55!

If anybody feels better by renaming Helmet from SM on, thinking that the new stuff betrays "the ancient" Helmet' style, probably is right (I don't care). But the new songs should not be judged as bad merely for not being in tune with the old ones (if anybody thinks so). Personally I think that in SM Helmet (or Hamilton&co) added moving melodies to the classic Helmet rythm, thereby enhancing/refreshing one style beckoned to death in Aftertaste. Great album and great song.

WTF.this is so incredibly sad. I was sick to my stomach after initially hearing this album. Try to imagine John Stanier playing the drums to this track, He'd walk out before hand, rightfully so. Page shouldn't have used the Helmet name to go along with this, sad, sad, sad from one of the biggest Helmet fans in existance.

This is most definately the worst song Helmet has ever released, anyone familer with vintage Helmet would most certainly agree from both a musical and lyric perspective.Monochrome is an improvement, but doesn't begin to approach others in the helmet discography.Maybe you shouldn't "broadcast such emotion"you make yourself look dumb and ignorant.Hey if you like it, its your opinion.

"Do you know him" actually I do,I've hung with John on numerous ocassions,in multiple countries.I've sat a drank beers with Page,in London,had Page teach me how to play"Bad Mood"on guitar on his tour bus in the presence of D and Donita from L7.Page is a rock legend no doubt,but the mistake is made when one thinks Helmet is"pages band"the first 4 helmet albums were all bigger then Page, and its painfully obvious today.Not even Page can bring back the helmet of the 90's,victim of his own success.

This footage brings a tear to my eye. What happened? Unbelievably boring and mediocre. Page looks tired and uninterested. Somebody please tell him to stick to producing.
