I think the 'lame crowd' comment is a bit unfair. Metallica themselves aren't exactly 'giving it everything'. I don't care how old they are, try comparing this to any recent Iron Maiden show and watch Steve Harris/Bruce dickinson. They still run across the stage from start to finish.
the over all tone has changed ever so slightly in my opinion the only members that have stayed true to the band throught the whole thing are lars and kirk
