I feel you on all levels! One way that I converse about racism to my non black friends is I establish that I am an individual first and black at the same time. Then if I get the "shy racist" which most racist are I simply let him talk as much as he/she likes so others can see what it looks like first. The key thing is to let a racist talk and let the ones who arent respond! Theres no reason for ANY black person to explain why they are black. most of your answers are in the William lynch theory
I believe it needs to be discussed at length. I am white I have no problem talking about racism to my black friends. I think Black history would be a good subject for everybody to take regardless of race.

look i know black people were slaves but white people were too but u guys seem to milk it alot.the u.s.a was rascist to irish and blacks years ago. it was no blacks no dogs no irish. im irish and we dont go on about it untill now because im sick of people that keep bringing it up and causing a rift in the world. I would like to see people build a bridge and get over it
I totally see where you are going with this but for hundreds of years this country did something and unfortunately this nation was built on it..thats probably why is gets talked about more. The US has been cruel to the Irish, Japanese and the Blacks (as well as many more) but the country was founded on slavery
what kills it is that im irish but because ive been living in london so long since i was a kid i have the london accent and when i go back to my home town my own people are quite nasty then the nasty songs about the english come out. U should really listen to them. By the way the IRA got there weapons sorted out by american goverment. I dont condone any of this violence and hatred that happened so many years ago. Lets all live in the present
I agree that irish was treated wrong as well. I watched an old movie with my daugher & the resturant in the movie said "no Irish". But the only thing is my daughters and I still incounter the same racism my grandmother & great grandmother did. In which other races are exepted. The only difference between blacks and other races is that we were brain washed & self esteem lowered kuz of seperation in our culture. other races speak on racism 2 but we get looked at badly when we speak up
Kudos to you for going through with it; I always enjoy watching the most miserable, graceless characters because the actors have to work so much harder to play these types than those playing the virtuous heroes. Someone has to do it, and it really makes the resulting work pop if done well.
