@msctrojan haha what do you think, he did it only in front wheel drive? without lockers, a 4x4 is really 2 wheel drive, one tire on each axle will spin.
@XjsAreTheWay, differentials transfer engine torque thru satellites, which equates torque to both tires, so if one of the is in the air this means it needs little or almos no torque to make it spin, hence the other tire will get the same torque which is not enought to make the other tire spin.
looks like it was getting 'hung up' in the ruts. This happened to me and my XJ in the snow last winter... up to the floorboards. Once momentum is lost in a situation like that (see video 1 of yours) it's game over for forward motion.

Why didn't you engage both axles? The front tires were spinning like crazy.
