  • Love Tiny Kong's part of the remix. Not much else though XD

  • It's funny how many developers put a lot of blood, sex and very mature swearing in their games, yet Nintendo doesn't even use the word "Hell"

  • @TaerKast 2:47 <--- use of "hell"

  • @silvRboLt95 6:10 <--- removal of "hell"

  • You may have noticed that at 2:48 the rapper said "hell" and at 6:10, he said "heck" instead.

  • The original was rather monotonous, slow, and repetitive. The new version had more energy and personality, more creative inflections, and switches in the music. The only downsides to the new version were that the lyrics are much more difficult to understand at some points, and the one word of censorship (who cares?)

  • did anyone else stare at the spinning barrel at the bottom?

  • @SSBSfanboy i did

  • um it already is in brawl

  • How the hell is the SSBM better... Or should I say how the HECK is it better... I would've liked it if the guy who did DK's verse did the whole thing, every other verse was terrible, especially Tiny's....and Diddy's.

  • @Icyfire25 so? its a matter of opinion

  • Original is better.

  • C'mon... One hell of a guy...That's more like a compliment?

I thought this was about the difference between both of the tracks...

Instead, let's debate what word should be rated "E" or "T"

    *sigh* -.-'

  • I though DK, Chunky and Lanky were pretty good in Melee but the others really just didn't suit me...

  • why is donkey kong the only one not wearing clothes??

  • @XpurplephantomX chunky and diddy's not even wearing any pants actually, donkey kong is wearing a tie.... iguess that counts :P

  • You guys gotta understand, watch cartoons from back in the day, they were allowed to do more offensive things that you can't do now, they often would say racist things, or religious slurs, etc. DK64 Was a 1999 game, And they said ''hell'' and it was rated E. Not a big deal back then. SSBM Was rated T, and the worst word it had was ''heck''

  • Pause @ 2:48

    Is that game rated E?

  • I liked the Melee version :/

  • Oh man. This brings back memories!

  • @Flodder450 how is it better? The rap from DK64 rocks!

  • 0:20 Lanky gets the crap knocked out of him lol

  • WHY THE FUCK DID THEY DO THIS?????

  • I dunno for a minute in the opening verse I thought they said monkey c-rap instead of monkey rap

  • The arrangement is okay... Except the Diddy Kong section. What the hell were they thinking? Chunky kinda sucks too.

  • @SuperDJYoshi ditto.

  • When ever I hear Diddy's part I think of the 5 4 3 2 1 countdown.

  • one of the best stage/songs ever

  • Did anyone else mishear "This crazy kong" as "this grade-Z kong" (as in, the opposite of grade-A) in the SSBM version?

  • At least P2 knows how to wavedash.

  • Wow. In the world we r forced to live in, they were actually allowed to say "hell"?

In melee that said heck instead, but melee is rated T and DK64 is E. That makes sense how?

  • @isetmfriendsofire 4 years is a big difference in time.

  • The melee version sucked

  • OMG WALNUTS PEANUTS! LOL!

  • come on kranky!! TAKE IT TO THE FRIDGE!!!!!

  • I like how the song said "hell" in DK64 (Rated E) but was changed to "heck" in SSBM (Rated T)

  • crap isnt a bad word these days

hell nobody really cares if you say that

    you know

    go all of them

  • The song itself is good, the lyrcis that's another story -__-"

  • oh my god it said HELL!!!... GETOVERIT!

  • your all noobs the melee them is better than the donkey kong 64 version

  • this song should have stayed on brawl

    along with

    poke float

  • he cussed!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry its in brawl

  • lol nintendo would never use the word "hell" anymore

  • @TheSilver964 yes they would

  • the new one isn´t really bad =P i find it really good

  • DK 64's is better

  • I like Kongo Jungle in general more, but I don't like the stanzas where it's so fast (the girl and diddy Kong)

  • except for the cussing part eh

  • See Rare did so well looking after the DK series, kick arse music, kick arse games, and now look at them, owned by some crap company...

  • In SSBM, the word "clap" sounds like "crap" a little bit.

  • @JacksonSTUFF777 I thought it was ''Crap,'' too when I played the stage. I like this level for the music.

  • @BigBossMan538

    alternet lyrics:

put your hands togther if you want to crap XD

  • @DannyJamesSmith23 well, with monkeys, wouldn't it be "put your hands together if you throw your crap"? XDXD

  • I don't "hate" the SSB remix, I just like it as much as the original. (fancy way of saying "EPIC PHAIL!")

  • I don't get why so many hate the Melee/Brawl version.

It's been remixed so it would fit a smash game! The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that Diddy's part isn't hard rock in the smash version but some sort of funky rock :(

  • Agreed. As I stated before, both versions are good. They both have their ups and downs.

  • Both versions are cool to me! Both have their ups and downs. The original has a slower tempo, but the lyrics are easier to understand and the rap is incredible. The rapping part isn't that good in SSBM, but the song is more varied and it has a more upbeat tone to it. So with that said, both versions are equal in my book =).

  • screwing music to whole new level

dude, its so screwed up, even my deaf friend think it stinks(really)

but i give you points for video quality

  • i liked the SSBM one better :P

  • n64 ftw

  • I just don't get it, how can you screw something up this bad? I always thought it sucked, but once I played the game it was from, it made it much more pathetic. I thought the smash games were supposed to be good at music.

  • i note the diferens the firs is almos slowly but in the melee is faster

  • LOVE the N64 version. Hate the other ones.

  • Sorry, CCD, but the DK Rap's in Brawl. D:

  • The song has a bad word in DK64 and that game was rated E for Everyone. The word is taken out in Melee and Brawl and both those games were rated T for Teen.

  • i know lol! but the melee and brawl versions stink. and hell isnt that bad.

  • DK64 was made by a british company (RAREware), Hell isn't considered a bad word there.

  • Does that also explain why EarthBound characters said "crap"?

  • Crap isn't a bad word anywhere.

  • hahaha true true

  • Lanky was always my favorite. My mom always made us skip the dk rap just because it said that word, but when we had this game, I was like 8

  • hahaha wow

  • ........................................

  • is chunky kong supposed to be a sasquach?

  • the primate sounds they added were hilarious

  • The song remix is back in brawl.

  • Where's Dixie Kong?

  • I think she was renamed Tiny Kong, and the second verse is about her

  • No, Tiny Kong is Dixie's sister.

  • I like the original N64 version of the song

  • one hell of a guy, waitaminute, kids played that?

  • thats why its rated E+10 lol

  • It's rated E.

  • There was no such thing as E+10 back then shadowmario.

  • i can bareley make out tiny and diddy's verses

  • I think both of em kick butt.

  • cool song , lolz the line "Take it to the fridge" , what does that even mean ?

  • Maybe its a refrence that the rest of the song is a bunch of fruits: walnuts, peanuts pineapple smells, grapes, melons oranges, and coconut shells. They all belong in the fridge.

  • are you serius?! you keep oranges is your fridge? -.-

  • uhh, you took that too literally.

  • or perhaps its to say C'mon kranky lets finish it in style thats my opinion tough

  • I thought it meant "lets start talking about food"

  • I like SSBM version.

  • I Like the melee version its better than the orginal

  • I agree. The original was OK, but this is TERRIBLE. yet it's in brawl as an alternate track for Jungle Japes

  • its a little faster in ssbm

  • At 0:22 The Last Member Of The D.k.Group,He Punched the Crazy Kong!LMAO!

  • "One hell of a guy!"

  • Donkey Kong 64..Rare at its best..gotta love Fungi Forest

  • even tho its on brawl theres a crap ton of other songs that i cant even keep track

  • 0.o The original said hell in it? Wow, that's surprising for a Donkey Kong game.

  • Thats nothing, some KIRBY games were really bloody. Like Kirby dreamland 3. The final boss is REALLY bloody. Kirby 64 is sorta bloody. So if you think thats surprising then yeah 0_0.

  • Well, Rareware IS a British company....

  • I dont get it...SSBM is rated T for teen. What's the point of editing out the word "Hell?"

  • cause the dont want a bunch of angry mother comming to there

  • it would give mario a bad name... =P...

but then again... what about Zero Suit Samus???

  • @Ant423 I KNOW RIGHT!

  • DK, DONKEY KONG!!

  • Not to mention it shows Diddy's 1st appearance of his jetpack with popgun action, he also used it in Mario Power Tennis for gamecube not N64 version and finally he uses it as a final smash in Brawl

  • lol, it ends up in brawl anyway

  • lol in SSBM they changed "Hell" to "heck" XD

  • Is the DK rap still in English in the Japanese versions of DK64 and SSBM?

  • the 64 version would NOT suit a fighting game like SSBM, the remix they made was much better cause it's faster and more intense, perfect for a fighting game

  • Just like how half of the music in Melee don't fit a "fast and intense" battle right? Venom being a good example, don't be stupid.

  • not exactly what i meant, would you really expect ta' hear the original version while watchin' wacky characters fighting on the side of a waterfall?

  • It sounds pretty hot if you ask me.

  • IM JUST SAAAAAYYYIN'

  • I like both version but the original version seems to drag a little bit. The newer version still seems cheesy but has some improvements.

  • i love it !!!

  • i no! lolz good tymez...

  • hey... i hav dk64! monkee rapp

  • Hell, 2:45.

  • that is a cool remix

  • they say hell in UK

  • ...ya know...every time I looked at my donkey kong 64...I either was in the bathroom (first and only time I watched opening) or skipped it... It says hell! oooooooooooooo!

  • TAKE IT TO THE FRIDGE!

  • I never noticed until now that the 64 version adds in the different instruments for each Kong without changing the beat, unlike Melee's version.

  • 5:41 lol is that fat albert lmao

  • lol but poke-Rap in pokemonstadium would be so awesome :D

  • Dude, I said that too like years ago, man. Haha.

  • The thing i dont get is that they say hell in DK64 and its rated E and in SSBM they replace hell with heck and the games rated T. it says hell when it goes to chunkys part

  • LANKEY KONG FTW!!

  • I think the n64 is better, but I ike them both okay.

  • I can't believe this is in brawl too

  • WHAAAAAAA?!

    But it's so annoying... :(

Product of 1990's misconceptions about children's preferences have no place in our modern society!!!

That was too wordy, but still... It's like if we put the Poke-Rap in Pokemon Stadium! It's just not right!

  • in donkey kong 64 the guy says ''but this kong is one hell of a guy'' but in ssbm he says heck insted of hell listin carefuly

  • The beginning of the melee version isn't bad, it's just the later parts are TERRIBLE.

  • n64 is better

  • I prefer the melee one honestly...

  • You know..as much as i like the original..i think the melee one is better

  • I actually like the one in melee, it's like, faster, but i couldn't understand the lyrics untill now. XD

  • The speed increase is fine. It's just those really bad Acid-Techno like breaks In-between parts of the song. It totally destroys it.

  • You mean the scratching? I don't like them too, but other than that it's cool ^^

  • No I mean The Rediculous Parts Scattered Around the song like the one in 4:03 and 5:07. Totally uneeded.

  • Oh i find the 4:03 good, but 5:07 is really unneeded as you said.

  • To: CrappyCaptureDevice

Don't worry too much about this being in Brawl. Don't forget we'll have multiple tracks to choose from for each stage anyways. I hope David Wise's Sticker Bush Symphony(Brambles) gets in somehow that track is incredible.

  • I think it is. It's called Bramble Blast, right? It was in a Dojo update.

  • It was? Which update.

  • the DK rap in DK 64 is not half bad... It has no place in melee however.

  • This Melee version also appears in Donkey Konga for the Nintendo GameCube.

  • Come on, the rap isn't that bad. Yet it's HORRIBLE in Melee.

  • "Come on, the rap isn't that bad. Yet it's HORRIBLE in Melee."

Yeah. the original was fine Yet they HAD to destroy it with this bad remix. Why nintendo? :(

  • rare made old,hal made new

  • So THIS is where they got the reason why I hate this level.

  • so thats where that horrible rap comes from (shudder)

  • C'mon it's not that bad. The Melee version is but not this....

  • DK should be a rap artist

  • N64 version is way better then SSBM version. The Diddy tiny and Lanky bits are out of time and hard to put together, and you can barely hear the diddy or tiny bits.

  • yeah. the rap was the first time I ever heard a curse word in a nintendo game. "He is one hell of a guy".

  • lol only a curse for 4 year olds

  • A curse for all ages, lol

  • Not since the '60s LOL

    Just like CRAP

  • The only other time I heard a cuss in Nintendo was MP3:C the Commander says "Damn."

  • You could count shadow the hedgehog. Altough the game is multiplatform

  • I was just counting Nintendo made games.

  • Lol, the DKrap is the best intro ever! I remember when this game was new, and I still have it!

  • i like the new one

  • Hmm... When I got Donkey Kong 64 the version I had said "heck" not "hell" but I did get it after it was out for a while... so it was probably changed...

  • They should have kept the orignal dk rap.

  • omg i never noticed they said hell lol
