The original was rather monotonous, slow, and repetitive. The new version had more energy and personality, more creative inflections, and switches in the music. The only downsides to the new version were that the lyrics are much more difficult to understand at some points, and the one word of censorship (who cares?)
How the hell is the SSBM better... Or should I say how the HECK is it better... I would've liked it if the guy who did DK's verse did the whole thing, every other verse was terrible, especially Tiny's....and Diddy's.
You guys gotta understand, watch cartoons from back in the day, they were allowed to do more offensive things that you can't do now, they often would say racist things, or religious slurs, etc. DK64 Was a 1999 game, And they said ''hell'' and it was rated E. Not a big deal back then. SSBM Was rated T, and the worst word it had was ''heck''
Hey viewers. While CCD is making histories, I created 2 playlists. These playlists are Brawl music histories. These are not my videos. I show the Brawl song, and then the original. Enjoy.
I don't get why so many hate the Melee/Brawl version.
It's been remixed so it would fit a smash game! The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that Diddy's part isn't hard rock in the smash version but some sort of funky rock :(
Both versions are cool to me! Both have their ups and downs. The original has a slower tempo, but the lyrics are easier to understand and the rap is incredible. The rapping part isn't that good in SSBM, but the song is more varied and it has a more upbeat tone to it. So with that said, both versions are equal in my book =).
I just don't get it, how can you screw something up this bad? I always thought it sucked, but once I played the game it was from, it made it much more pathetic. I thought the smash games were supposed to be good at music.
The song has a bad word in DK64 and that game was rated E for Everyone. The word is taken out in Melee and Brawl and both those games were rated T for Teen.
Maybe its a refrence that the rest of the song is a bunch of fruits: walnuts, peanuts pineapple smells, grapes, melons oranges, and coconut shells. They all belong in the fridge.
Thats nothing, some KIRBY games were really bloody. Like Kirby dreamland 3. The final boss is REALLY bloody. Kirby 64 is sorta bloody. So if you think thats surprising then yeah 0_0.
Not to mention it shows Diddy's 1st appearance of his jetpack with popgun action, he also used it in Mario Power Tennis for gamecube not N64 version and finally he uses it as a final smash in Brawl
the 64 version would NOT suit a fighting game like SSBM, the remix they made was much better cause it's faster and more intense, perfect for a fighting game
...ya know...every time I looked at my donkey kong 64...I either was in the bathroom (first and only time I watched opening) or skipped it... It says hell! oooooooooooooo!
The thing i dont get is that they say hell in DK64 and its rated E and in SSBM they replace hell with heck and the games rated T. it says hell when it goes to chunkys part
