No offense to Woody, but I think his views are a little biased. After all, he's damned near a paragon in COD commentary. If I have to be honest, there are some of people that post gameplay and commentary better than the big names, and then people just say that they're copying them. My point is, ANYTHING the big names put out will get eaten up and a new and great channel will just stop posting after spending a year in the shadows.

I agree but small channels like mine dont really have the chance to grow unless we get a big break because even if you work your way up it might be 3 years before you can get 10k+ subs but then since i do commentarys maybe everybody wants map layouts or montages so there are a few good counters to it.

Only thing what SeaNanners did is to introduce it to the whole Youtube community.
It didn't get huge that way, only maybe speed it up by like 5% since most of the other communities knew the game already .. 4chan, gaming websites etc.

If people make money doing what they do then there's definitely entertainment value in it. I love watching a video with commentary vs no commentary. It goes hand in hand. There's learning value in watching these commentaried games. I learned alot myself. I went from run n gun to a pretty balanced player from watching and listening to what these Guys say and do. I say keep it coming keep it fresh cause it gives me something to watch while I'm at work. Keep up the good work

i beieve that there are both really good and really bad things going on in the community right now. ive been a good youtube viewer (14,000 vids watched) for this whole time, and ive come to one major conclusion: the good channels are getting better, while the new machinima posters are overall just ruining the community. period.
I still think you are only a good player because of who you play with, I would really like to see how you could do in either a free for all or mercenary tdm, and upload the first not just the one you do well in! I don't mean to bitch cus I really like your commentaries and would watch them anyways just to hear your thoughts but I'd like to see what kind of player you really are by seeing you on your own :) no offence meant at all by that!
the videos themselves are a lot better, of course. but the community as a whole is bad. It's no longer everyone has equal chance - machinima has the say in who makes it and is so unfair a lot of the time. anyone outside machinima doesn't really stand a chance anymore. there's now an even clear hierarchy in place.
bigger does not equal better. it just makes it harder and harder to filter good content from bad content.

Why don't you change up your killstreaks? the number of blackbirds your team gets coupled with not being able to get your chopper up (lol) is a waste of a killstreak, if you spawn trap well on some maps so why not have on sentry guns or mortar strikes all over the spawn?

i think the youtube community is slowly declining, not the videos, there good but more or less the people, more trolls, console wars are getting worse, and the acual gameplay with little turds online only going for kills in objective based gametypes and other people doing more stuff but all in all as long as it doesnt get any worse im ok with everything for now
dont discount other minecraft commentators, Seananners might be the biggest channel doing it but there are several series that get 100,000+ views on every episode
Quality wise, it's excellent I think was gfxlab's meaning, but the very core and fundamental reason for commentating and sharing has changed to money grubbing hoes only concerned about subs, views, partnerships, and ultimately the money.
I personally believe that adding FPS PC games to the list of commentated/uploaded game play would be an improvement to the community. Mostly because the difference between the non skilled players, and the skilled players is lesser due to a wide majority finds it more difficult to aim with a thumb stick. That's the reason for "Aim Assist" in COD.
Wings nailed it: it's like an indie band that you love, but they start getting big, and therefore become "sellouts" because of success. It's petty to think this way, but it happens.
I think Trout had one of the first vids I ever watched, and he also did the subscriber challenges in WaW and COD 4 which were pretty awesome.
Video quality, commentating and diversity is better now in my opinion. I think the YouTube "veterans" are just upset they are starting to lose some of their YouTube "market share," and bashing is the way they think they'll get it back.
I think the youtube gaming community is over saturated, i agree that the standard is better but theres just SO many new commentators trying to get a machinema contract. some join for the fun and some join for the chance of making money off it.
but the problme as i see it is that very few new commentators can make their mark. they either cant been seen in the sea of comentators or their content simply isnt special enough for it to gain views.
Wow, you send people this message early in the video to send video responces RELATED, that and comments. Yet, the top rated comment, as of today @HDSuperking and all these video responces have no relation what so ever.
For instance, a vid with a tomahawk across the map, and a comment advertising there videos by putting the link on to the comment box.
And another thing, theres nothing wrong with LIKE, RATE COMMMENTS SUB, in my opinion. Just be related to the video please. So stupid.

You talk a lot of sense woody. The videos in general are pretty good. Of course there is also a lot of poor videos. One of the popular ones that doesn't interest me much are all the flukes people upload, all the no scopes and throwing knifes across maps.. Yes, if you mess about for long enough, you will hit someone with it, not terribly impressive, just the way the law of chance works.

I believe the call of duty youtube community has gone completely out of control. The number of call of duty players gaining access to hacking software just to steal channels. Then there is the scammer's who pretend to sell channels to kids who want to get big on youtube.
Now the content being brought out is not the issue here. Most of the content is the best it has ever been but only mainly from the big youtubers.
Another issue is the comment rating system being abused. Even in this very video.
I guess I'm in a minority here. I despised the youtube community ages ago. I agree commentary has gotten better, but we have a flooded market now. In my eyes, when the market's flooded with people doing commentary, that's no good.
Hence why I started and continue to do reviews. Not commentary. It's different.
I agree to you with a point, but also with GFX. I watch very few videos in my sub box now - Only very specific directors. I don't unsubscribe because I figure they want the subs. Problem is I started watching Call of Duty videos way after I was watching RuneScape videos (RS Is still in the top 20 searches on YouTube I believe) for years beforehand, and everything I see now in the COD Market has already been done there 3 or 4 years ago.
I think you have missed the point woody that GFX and others are highlighting. All the sub whoring, indiscriminate posting of video upon video to get more views to make more money has changed the community, opinions and content put forward by larger youtubers are vanilla at best, like they are towing some imaginary company line that is the formula to grow a large channel. it was far better when people posted because they wanted to, not because they wanted more money for lap-band surgery.

Why don't you change up your killstreaks? the number of blackbirds your team gets coupled with not being able to get your chopper up (lol) is a waste of a killstreak, if you spawn trap well on some maps so why not have on sentry guns or mortar strikes all over the spawn?

i think the youtube community is slowly declining, not the videos, there good but more or less the people, more trolls, console wars are getting worse, and the acual gameplay with little turds online only going for kills in objective based gametypes and other people doing more stuff but all in all as long as it doesnt get any worse im ok with everything for now

I personally believe that adding FPS PC games to the list of commentated/uploaded game play would be an improvement to the community. Mostly because the difference between the non skilled players, and the skilled players is lesser due to a wide majority finds it more difficult to aim with a thumb stick. That's the reason for "Aim Assist" in COD.

Video quality, commentating and diversity is better now in my opinion. I think the YouTube "veterans" are just upset they are starting to lose some of their YouTube "market share," and bashing is the way they think they'll get it back.

I think the youtube gaming community is over saturated, i agree that the standard is better but theres just SO many new commentators trying to get a machinema contract. some join for the fun and some join for the chance of making money off it.
but the problme as i see it is that very few new commentators can make their mark. they either cant been seen in the sea of comentators or their content simply isnt special enough for it to gain views.

Wow, you send people this message early in the video to send video responces RELATED, that and comments. Yet, the top rated comment, as of today @HDSuperking and all these video responces have no relation what so ever.
For instance, a vid with a tomahawk across the map, and a comment advertising there videos by putting the link on to the comment box.
And another thing, theres nothing wrong with LIKE, RATE COMMMENTS SUB, in my opinion. Just be related to the video please. So stupid.

You talk a lot of sense woody. The videos in general are pretty good. Of course there is also a lot of poor videos. One of the popular ones that doesn't interest me much are all the flukes people upload, all the no scopes and throwing knifes across maps.. Yes, if you mess about for long enough, you will hit someone with it, not terribly impressive, just the way the law of chance works.
My biggest gripe though is not the uploaders, it is the community as in the commenters. Some are absolutely p

Use onboard if you are desperate, and graphics card is nothing in comparison to mobo + Cpu+ ram.
You can get a decent card for £160, but sandy bridge aint that bad for onboard video.

I believe the call of duty youtube community has gone completely out of control. The number of call of duty players gaining access to hacking software just to steal channels. Then there is the scammer's who pretend to sell channels to kids who want to get big on youtube.
Now the content being brought out is not the issue here. Most of the content is the best it has ever been but only mainly from the big youtubers.
Another issue is the comment rating system being abused. Even in this very video.

I guess I'm in a minority here. I despised the youtube community ages ago. I agree commentary has gotten better, but we have a flooded market now. In my eyes, when the market's flooded with people doing commentary, that's no good.
Hence why I started and continue to do reviews. Not commentary. It's different.

I agree to you with a point, but also with GFX. I watch very few videos in my sub box now - Only very specific directors. I don't unsubscribe because I figure they want the subs. Problem is I started watching Call of Duty videos way after I was watching RuneScape videos (RS Is still in the top 20 searches on YouTube I believe) for years beforehand, and everything I see now in the COD Market has already been done there 3 or 4 years ago.

I think you have missed the point woody that GFX and others are highlighting. All the sub whoring, indiscriminate posting of video upon video to get more views to make more money has changed the community, opinions and content put forward by larger youtubers are vanilla at best, like they are towing some imaginary company line that is the formula to grow a large channel. it was far better when people posted because they wanted to, not because they wanted more money for lap-band surgery.
